    Abstract:
Objective To explore the correlation of brain natriuretic peptide level with cardiac function in order to elucidate the importance of measurement of BNP in heart failure(HF). Methods Fifty-six patients with heart failure and 52 patients controls without HF were enrolled in the study and samples of BNP,blood glucose and lipid were obtained on admission day.The plasma levels of BNP were examined by ELISA.The correlation of plasma levels of BNP with cardiac function were analyzed by SPSS for windows V10.0,statistical package. Results The plasma levels of BNP were gradually elevated with the severity of HF.The change of BNP level was negatively correlated with LVEF(P0.01).Conclusion Plasma BNP levels increase in patients with CHF,and markedly increased according to the severity of heart failure classified by NYHA classification.

Objective To understand the correlation of N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide(NT-pro-BNP),brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) and ST2 with severity of heart failure, and thus to investigate the diagnostic values of these indicators. Methods 354 cases of heart failure admitted to our hospital from January 2009 to July 2012 were classified according to the New York Heart Association(NYHA) heart function standard. All patients were asked in detail about medical history and completed NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 check on the basis of routine examination after admission. Results Compared with control group,NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 blood concentration levels were significantly increased in the heart failure group; There were significant differences in NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 blood concentration levels between different classification groups(P 0.05,P 0.01);Spearman correlation analysis showed that NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 blood concentration levels increased with the severity of heart failure;ROC curve showed that the correlation coefficients for NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 were 0.970,0.785 and 0.980 respectively. Conclusion NT-pro-BNP,BNP and ST2 indicators are positively related to the severity of heart failure, thus it can be used for the assessment of the severity of heart failure and also for the diagnosis of heart failure.Among the three indicators,NT-pro-BNP is the most sensitive markers in the diagnosis of heart failure.

Objective To study the diagnostic value of plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) for heart failure. Methods 200 cases of heart failure patients within a year were selected as the observation group,200 healthy medical staffs were randomly assigned as the control group. The concentration of plasma BNP of the two groups were measured and we analyzed the correlation between plasma BNP level and cardiac functional status of patients. Results The concentration of plasma BNP in patients with heart failure was (575.7 ± 176.5) pg/ml,significantly higher than the control group (68.2 ± 17.9) pg/ml,the two groups were statistically significantly different (P < 0.05).The concentration of plasma BNP increased gradually with more severe symptoms (class Ⅰ to Ⅳ).Conclusion BNP level may be a reliable method in the diagnosis of heart failure. The level of plasma BNP in patients with heart failure elevated with the severity of heart failure and it plays a significant role in the clinical diagnosis of heart failure. Objective To investigate the correlation between the brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)level in serum and the severity of heart failure(HF)as well as the left ventricular function(LVF)in patients with HF.Methods 122 patients with HF before and after treatment and 20 control subjects were investigated by measuring the BNP level in serum, the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD).Results The serum BNP level in patients with HF were markedly higher than those of control group(P0.01),and the increase of BNP level was closely correlated with the severity of NYHA function class. The BNP levels were correlated negatively with the LVEF(r=-0.34,P0.001).After treatment, the LVEDD in HF patients was obviously improved(P0.05),however,the BNP level in serum was markedly decreased after treatment. Conclusion The increase of BNP levels is closely correlated with the severityof HF,further more, the BNP levels also better reflected the LVF.

Objective:To demonstrate the relations of the plasma atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) concentration with the severity of heart failure, the underling heart disease and the left ventricular function in patients with heart failure.Method: ① Plasma ANP and BNP concentrations of patients with heart failure (n=75) and of normal controls (n=60) were measured with immunoradiometricassay immediately after admission. ② Hemodynamic parameters were measured with Swan Ganz catheter in 75 patients on the same time. ③ Left ventricular ejection fraction was measured with 99m Tc gated ventriculography.Result:① The plasma ANP and BNP concentrations of patients were significantly higher than those of normal controls (P 0.01 ). They also increased according to the severity of heart failure classified by Forrester′s classification. The plasma ANP and BNP concentrations also had a significant positive and negative correlations with PCWP(r= 0.64 , P 0.01 ) and CI (r= -0.76 , P 0.01 ) respectively. In spite of same degree of CI, PCWP, LVEF and plasma level of ANP, the plasma BNP level was significantly higher in MI group than those in VHD and DCM group (P 0.01 ). The plasma BNP concentration had a significant correlation (r= -0.78 , P 0.01 ) with left ventricular ejection fraction. Conclusion:The plasma levels of ANP and BNP increase significantly according to the severity of heart failure classified by Forrester′s classification. The plasma BNP concentration is elevated more markedly in heart failure patients caused by myocardial infarction. The plasma BNP concentration may be a biochemical parameter for evaluating the left ventricular function.

OBJECTIVE To explore the evaluation of brain natriuretic(BNP)in Tyhypertensive patients.METHODS The BNP were measured in 296 Thypertensive patients and a control of 58 healthy subjects. The differences of these indices were compared between the two groups.RESULTS HThe plasma BNP level in the hypertensive patients was higher than that of the control group. The plasma BNP level was elevated with the ascending of the classification of hypertension, especially in the second and third hypertensive grades(P0.05).CONCLUSION The plasma BNP level in hypertensive patients is closely correlated with the classification of hypertension. So BNP could be used to judge the severity of Thypertensive patients is decrease.

Objective To investigate plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in heart failure patients,as well as the changes of the value of assessment of cardiac function. Methods Measured by Immune-fluorescence assay using 110 cases of patients with congestive heart failure(HF group) and 20 cases of healthy persons(control group) of plasma BNP concentration;use echocardiography measurement of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).Results BNP in heart failure group was significantly higher than control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.01),and the BNP level increased with the higher the group in NYHA classification of heart failure;BNP levels have a statistically significant difference(P0.01) in 4 different groups of cardiac function;Comparison with the pre-treatment,each group's concentration of BNP significantly reduced after one week treatment(P0.01);BNP level and LVEF was negatively correlated, and higher plasma BNP levels increase in mortality. Conclusion Monitoring BNP level can be used as the guidance indicators of diagnosis of heart failure, cardiac function assessment as well as the efficacy and prognosis.

To investigate the correlation between brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the cardiac function in patients with heart failure(HF), the plasma level of BNP was determined by IRMA and the left cardiac function parameters were measured on echocardiogram in patients with different grade of HF. The results showed that the plasma level of BNP elevated with the worsening of heart failure (NYHA classification). The plasma levels of BNP were negatively correlated with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDd). The plasma level of BNP increases significantly along with the severity of HF classified by NYHA, and might be a biochemical parameter for evaluating the left ventricular function.
