In order to study the meat development value of princess chicken, the body size traits and slaughter performance of 12-week-old F1hybrid offspring of princess chicken(♂) and frizzle chicken(♀) were measured and the correlations between different traits were analyzed. The results showed that body length, keel length and shank length of male F1hybrid offspring were significantly higher than those of female chickens. The live weight, carcass weight, semi-eviscerated weight, semi-eviscerated ratio, eviscerated weight, chest muscle weight, leg muscle weight and heart weight of male chickens were very significantly higher than those of female chickens, the leg muscle ratio and wings weight were significantly higher than those of female chickens, but sebum thick of male chickens was very significantly lower than those of female chickens. Other indicators had no significant difference. There were highly significant and very highly significant correlations between the slaughter performance and body size in F1hybrid offspring. The regression equation of related indicators was identified. This conclusion provided a certain theoretical reference for predicting slaughter performance indicators through a living body size measurements, and production performances of F1hybrid offspring were improved significantly.

The correlation and path coefficient between body weight or body size and subcutaneous fat rate in 7 weeks age of strain A of Xianhu meat ducks were analyzed. The results indicated that there were moderate correlated between body length, chest breadth, tibial length and subcutaneous fat rate, and the correlation was significant(P0.05). The subcutaneous fat rate were affected by body weight and body length in the female Xianhu ducks, and the correlation coefficient were 0.6495 and 0.5127 respectively, which were moderate correlated, and the correlation were extremely significant (P0.01). As for the male duck's subcutaneous fat rate, the distinctive effect was from chest breadth, the path coefficient was 0.5501,and the independent effect was 30.261%. The interaction effect between chest breadth and tibial circumference was maximum, which was -13.585%. The subcutaneous fat rate in female ducks were directly affected by body weight, and the path coefficient was 0.3898,and the independent effect was 15.194%. The interaction effect between body weight and body length was maximum, which was 11.037. The optimal predicting equation of regression was as follows:■=-12.282+0.307x2+1.616x4+1.537x6 and ■=2.604+2.806x1+0.541x2.

The body size and carcass traits of 13-week-old Royal chickens were measured and analyzed to study the relationships of each trait. The results showed that all the body size indicators of the cock were higher than that of the hen, showing extremely significant differences between cock and hen(P0.01) except for the chest width and pelvic width. The weight of wings,Breast muscle and abdominal fat of hen were higher than that of cock, but the differences were not signi-ficant(P0.05).However,other carcass indicators of cock were very significantly(P0.01) higher than that of hen.Correlation analysis indicated that the maximum correlation coefficient(0.997) was found between half-eviscerated weight and eviscerated weight. There were significant correlations among the most indicators of the body size. The result was also found among the most indicators of slaughter traits.Significant correlation was showed between the wings weight, breast muscle weight and body length, chest depth, keel length and tibia length. But the others indicators of the body size were not significant(P0.05) correlated with the indicators of slaughter trait.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations among body weight, body size and traits of Xiushui yellow silky chicken in order to provide scientific basis for species identification and breeding and improving the native breeds. The body weight, body size and carcass traits of Xiushui yellow silky chicken at 150 days were measured and the correlations among these traits were analyzed. The results showed that Xiushui yellow silky chicken was a small-sized breed and there were very significant differences between the male and female chickens in body weight, body slope length, fossil bone length, breast depth, shank length and the measures of shank circumference( P0.01),and the measures of the normal series were significantly higher than those of frizzled-feather one between( P0.05); body weight had significant positive correlation( P0.01)with body slope length, fossil bone length, shank length, breast depth, breast circumference and pelvic width.Xiushui yellow silky chicken's meat performance was good and there were no significant difference between normal and frizzled-feather series.Body slope length, fossil bone length, breast circumference, breast depth had significant positive correlation( P 0.01) with percentage of slaughter weight, carcass weight and half-eviscerated weight, eviscerated weight. There were correlations of various degress among others measures.

The aim of this paper was to investigate the correlation among body weight, body size and carcass traits of quality duck hybrid progeny. The body weight, body size, and carcass traits of hybrid duck at 70 days of age were measured and the correlations among these traits were analyzed. The results showed that there were significant differences between the male and female ducks for body weight, shank length,half-diving depth, leg muscle rate(P0.01),and body slope length, keel bone length, chest width, chest depth were significant(P0.05). The body weight had significantly positive correlation to half- diving depth, eel bone length, chest width, shank length, shank circumference, body slope length, chest depth(P0.01). There were significantly positive correlation between slaughter rate and eviscerated rate, laughter rate and semi-eviscerated rate, eviscerated rate and semi-eviscerated rate, breast muscle rate and leg muscle rate(P0.01),but leg muscle rate and subcutaneous fat rate, leg muscle rate and lean meat rate, abdominal fat rate and subcutaneous fat rate were significantly negative correlation(P0.05). This study laid scientific basis for estabilishment of breeding objective and strategy in quality duck.

In this study, Regression Tree Analysis (RTA) was used to predict and to determine the most important variables in predicting the slaughter weight of Ross 308 broiler chickens. Data for this study came from 224 chickens raised during three different seasons, namely spring (n=66), summer (n=66), winter (n=92). Second week body weight, shank length, shank width, breast bone length, breast width, breast circumference and body length were used to predict the slaughter weight. Results of RTA showed that among the seven independent variables only four were selected, namely; body weight, breast bone length, shank width, and breast circumference. These selected independent variables were more efficient than the others in predicting the slaughter weight.RTA indicated that the birds which had values of second week body weight >295.95 g, breast bone length >55.82 mm and breast circumference >14.18 cm or that of body weight ≤295.95 g, breast bone length >60.26 mm and shank width >8.32 mm could be expected to have higher slaughter weights.
