Abstract:
Can your students list more than a few items that they touch, wear, eat, or otherwise use that were not made or sold by someone who intended to make money? Do your students know anyone who wants to earn a salary or a proft from a business? Have your students ever seen an advertisement? The answers are completely obvious. And yet, for all our connections with the world of private enterprise— Americans experience an average of three thousand advertisements each day—how often do we teach students about businesses and how they work? Mark H. Rose and I have put together this issue of the Magazine of History to show some of the attractions and benefts of focusing on business history in our classes. With these essays and teaching strategies, you can explore a few of the ways business historians approach the people and the processes that have infuenced our nation...Keywords:

Salary is only one of many factors that affect teachers’ motivation, but it is the most important factor in attracting the best candidates and keeping the best teachers in the system. Low salaries make it difficult to attract new teachers and retain those already in the profession. In addition, the teacher's salary is strongly correlated with the pupils’ performance. In the paper, the teacher's salary in different countries and its ratio with the minimum salary and the minimum expenditure basket were studied, and comparisons were made with the RA. Unlike many other countries, where the salary of a teacher is low compared to salaries of other sectors, but still allows living a decent life, in the case of Armenia, this problem is more acute to the extent that it is not only low compared to other sectors, but also very often the teacher's salary does not give a chance to live a decent life. Therefore, it is proposed to raise teachers' statutory salaries in order to attract more capable people, to improve pupils' performance.

Business history as a differentiated subject is of comparatively recent origin in the American academic scene. It has naturally been most closely associated with collegiate schools of business, and particularly with those offering graduate or semi-graduate programs of instruction. It now seems appropriate to inquire what rôle it plays in such programs, what should be its content, how it should be presented, and what relationship it has to the closely associated fields of economic history, economics, business administration, and public administration

This article explores the emergence of European business education in the mid-nineteenth century. Drawing on archival analysis the typological study which this article proposes, attempts to show that business education before 1870 seems to have been a geographically and institutionally broader expression than has been described up to now. It identifies four organisational models of business education and reveals that higher business education was not limited to the Higher Schools of Commerce alone. It concludes that the European states took, directly or not, an interest in business education well before the end of the nineteenth century.
