    Abstract:
Flexible synthetic casting tape (Scotchrap) has some interesting characteristics that other plastic casting tapes do not have. Scothrap has various flexibility from rigid to flexible by changing expansion of trimming and thickness of casting. It has elasticity, it can be restored to the original state, and it can be cut by scissors. We had made shoe inserts by using Scotchrap for some foot disorders (metatarsalgia, flat foot and painful heel syndrome) and we gained good results. It can support arches of feet, it can be fitted well and patients had good feeling.Trimming of shoe insert is easy and we could make shoe insert immediately. Scotchrap is a new material which is worthy of notice for conservative treatment of foot disorders.

Feet and ankles are parts of human body that receive high-pressure in every day. Feet disorders such achilles tendonitis, heel pain, and plantar fasciitis are very common. There are many causes for these feet disorders heels, obesity, sports activity, and standing for a long time. There are many reliefs for feet disorders such as heel insert. However, they come in various shapes and use different materials. There are no specifications in which type is suitable for specific user. This has led to the proposed research to provide guidelines for selecting the appropriate heel insert for ladies who face with long carriers. This research uses contact-measuring forces, contact area, and pressure acting on a person’s feet in various standing positions with different insert materials and shapes. The proper material for making insert will be presented and discussed. Keywords—Heel inserts, Long-standing person acquisition, Finite element analysis, Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).

Painful feet are common. Bunions, corns, metatarsalgia and osteoarthritis abound, and are usually obvious. Pain behind the heel is usually due to Achilles tendinitis and inflammation of the various bursae. This article focuses on those conditions resulting in pain below the heel, of which the commonest by far is plantar fasciitis. Despite it being fairly common in general practice, there is surprisingly little quality evidence for any of the common treatments. What trials do exist generally have very small numbers, making it difficult to produce authoritative recommendations.

An illustrated case with Morton's metatarsalgia is presented. MR imaging was helpful for determining the presence, location and magnitude of intermetatarsal neuroma. Moreover, it had a large influence on the differential diagnostic thinking because many disorders may produce forefoot complaints mimicking Morton's metatarsalgia.

Authors report on the result of Helal's metatarsal osteotomies performed on 62 feet of 48 patients for metatarsalgia. In 85 per cent the result proved to be excellent, in 15 per cent there was no improvement. Analysing the causes of the postoperative complaints they call attention to the overload of the marginal arches and to the metatarsalgia developing on the non osteotomized neighbouring arch. These complaints appeared in 1/3 of their material and could be generally well influenced with conservative treatment.

In this article were analyzed clinical, X-ray and sonographic results of the treatment taken by patients suffering for metatarsalgia. The said study involved 189 patients suffering from metatarsalgia (269 feet) who were divided into a core group that included patients suffering from metatarsalgia and patients having the same disease that was combined with hallux valgus and who underwent a surgery by using of the method developed by us (87 patients, 136 feet) and a control group which included patients suffering from metatarsalgia combined with hallux valgus and who underwent a surgery earlier by using of different techniques which goal was to correct hallux valgus (102 patients, 133 feet).

Morton neuroma is most likely a mechanically-induced degenerative neuropathy that predilects the third common digital nerve in middle-aged women who frequently wear fashionable shoes that are not designed for the physiology of the foot. A compression test of the affected web space is quite specific for its diagnosis, and an ultrasonograph can tell its exact size. If conservative means fail to relieve the painful symptoms of a Morton neuroma, surgical removal can produce dramatic pain relief. Metatarsalgia means pain in the metatarsal head region, and exists in three general forms: metatarsalgia of the first metatarsal head region, metatarsalgia of the fourth lateral metatarsal head region, and generalized metatarsalgia. There are numerous causes of metatarsalgia; a selected and important group of causes is discussed in this article. When conservative means fail to relieve metatarsalgia, specific surgical operations are quite effective for relief of pain, and are briefly described in the text.
