Abstract:
This article puts forward the concept of Chinese and English dictionary with reverse term frequency.Belt reverse term frequency Chinese and English dictionary functional module includes Chinese translation for English module,English translation for Chinese module,Key Words inquiry module and reverse term frequency statistics module.This dictionary realizes the documents reverse term frequency computation,thus provides important data for the literature commendation system while realizing the inter-translation of Chinese and English words and expressions.Cite
The article appraises objectively the role of a dictionary in translation, emphatically presents the flexible use of a dictionary and points out that the Chinese meanings of a word in a dictionary are limited, so the meaning of a word must be extended or derived in translation according to its basic meaning. A meaning given in a dictionary cannot be blindly copied in the translation.

We present a method for constructing a Japanese-Chinese bilingual dictionary from a Japanese-English dictionary and an English-Chinese dictionary using English as an intermediate language. To select correct translations from among a large number of candidates, we have developed a method of ranking candidate translations by utilizing three sources of information, i.e. the number of English translations in common, the part of speech and Japanese kanji information. Experimental results showed that the proposed method is a feasible way to construct a bilingual dictionary of any two languages.

日中機械翻訳システム開発の一環として, 日中翻訳辞書の自動構築に関する研究を行っている.今まで, 機械翻訳の研究は英語を一方の言語とする研究が多く行われてきたため, 英語と英語以外の言語の間の対訳辞書は豊富に蓄積されている.一方, 英語以外の言語間の対訳辞書はあまり開発されていない.近年, 英語以外の言語の電子データは増え続けており, 英語以外の言語間の対訳辞書はますます必要になってきている.豊富に蓄積された英語と英語以外の言語の問の対訳辞書を利用して, 英語以外の言語間の機械翻訳システムを効率的に開発することが研究の課題になっている.本稿では, 日英・英中辞書を利用して日中辞書をゼロから構築する方法とその結果について報告する.英語を介して, 新しい言語間の対訳辞書を構築するアプローチは新しいものではないが, 大量の候補から正しい訳語を選択するという問題がまだよく解決されていない.本稿では, 多数のヒューリスティックな情報を利用して訳語を選択する手法を提案した.提案手法においては, 訳語の選別に品詞情報と漢字情報を活用して, 中国語の訳語候補を評価するためのスコアリング関数に多数のヒューリスティックな情報を取りいれた.提案手法を用いて, EDR日英辞書の約14万個のレコードに対し, レコードごとに中国語訳語候補の順位付けを行った.その順位付けについて, 20以上の中国語訳語候補を持つ日本語単語を対象とした評価実験を行った.その結果, 一位に順位付けた訳語の正解率が81.4%に達したことが分かった.

In this paper, we show how to construct a transfer dictionary automatically. Dictionary construction, one of the most difficult tasks in developing a machine translation system, is expensive. To avoid this problem, we investigate how we build a dictionary using existing linguistic resources. Our algorithm can be applied to any language pairs, but for the present we focus on building a Korean-to-Japanese dictionary using English as a pivot. We attempt three ways of automatic construction to corroborate the effect of the directionality of dictionaries. First, we introduce "one-time look up" method using a Korean-to-English and a Japanese-to-English dictionary. Second, we show a method using "overlapping constraint" with a Korean-to-English dictionary and an English-to-Japanese dictionary. Third, we consider another alternative method rarely used for building a dictionary: an English-to-Korean dictionary and English-to-Japanese dictionary. We found that the first method is the most effective and the best result can be obtained from combining the three methods.

This research is about the Chinese dictionary for multi-lingual machine translation system now developing in the cooperative research project by Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, the People's Republic of China and Malaysia.This project is a six-year project started in 1987, developing machine translation system which adopts the interlingua approach to translate five languaaes mutually .This Chinese dictionary is used in the Chinese analysis and generation, and also is used to input Chinese characters.The dictionary for machine translation consists of word dictionary, concept dictionary and cooccurrence dictionary. In this paper design philosophy and dictionary structure of the Chinese word dictionary which provides information for morphological and syntactical analysis and generation is described. Gramatical information of Chinese word is introduced. Development method of this dictionary is explained. How these word, concept and cooccurrence dictionary are used in machine translation is also discussed in this paper.
