    Abstract:
    The adjusting valve in synthesis gas turbine used in Ningxia Petrochemical Co.had never been disassembled and overhauled before 2003,thus,there was no operative rules for repair and adjustment.In 2003,the synthesis ammonia plant was shutdown and repaired completely,this adjusting valve was also overhauled.With the experience in recent years,in this article,the methods of repair and adjustment for this adjusting valve were simply described and summarized.

    Based on experience obtained in tackling troubles encountered by 300 MW,600 MW pure DEH controlled units of Dongfang Steam Turbine Co.Ltd.during installation and operation periods,normal troubles occurring in the high-pressure main stop valve and high-pressure control valve are classified as follows: seizing up and abnormal noise in operation of high-pressure control valve;steam leakage in bonnet and valve rod of main stop valve.The effective way to solve this problem is to secure enough gap between valve rod and pocket,suitable gap between valve disc and pocket,obey installation sequence strictly,guarantee sound sealing of all sealing surfaces.

    In one large synthetic ammonia construction,there is a high pressure steam turbine which is used as a drive for synthetic gas compressor.When the compressor startup again,there were faults occurred for three times in adjusting valve which seriously affect the normal operation of whole synthetic ammonia construction and a great amount of economic loss created.By analyzing the faults occurred in the adjusting valve,the cause of these faults was found.The correcting measures to remove the fault in adjusting valve,then,proposed.These measures can be referenced in diagnosing and removing such faults.

    The paper describes the necessity of new valves’pre-maintain before operation,introduces preliminary preparation and maintenance steps for the new valves before operation.Valve maintenance is divided into three parts,that is,(1)valve maintenance before installation and welding;(2)inspection and maintenance during pressure testing and(3)maintenance and repair forproblemvalve before putting into operation. Requirements for valve installation and welding are presented.

    The electro-hydraulic control system of N3.782-0.8538 variable-speed steam turbine consists of two relatively independent and interdependent parts,which are governing valve high-pressure fire-resistant oil and throttle valve low-pressure lube oil control systems.During commissioning and start-up operation period in a power plant,governing valve sloshing,latch-on failure,throttle valve opening abnormally and high pressure of regulating oil occurred frequently.By comprehensive analysis and study on the working principle of control system oil circuit,internal structure of important parts,and dismantling checking the throttle starting valve,manual shutdown valve and so on,it was found that control system connection loosening will lead to governing valve sloshing;the seizure and oil drain of throttle starting valve and manual shutdown valve will lead to steam turbine latch-on failure,throttle valve opening failure,regulating oil pressure relative high and so on.

    Turbine valve discharge characteristic was tested to resolve the problem of high heat-consumption in one 600MW power plant and the result indicated that pressure loss between front and back main steam valve groups was too large.Loose valve seat of adjusting valve,too small flow area between valve seat and valve head,poor aerodynamic performance of main steam valve groups were main factors responsible for large damper loss.In the end,relevant solutions and modify project were given.
