Abstract:
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of invigorating the liver and tonifying the kidney with IFN in treating CHB. Methods:60 patients suffering CHB were randomly divided into 2 groups(treat groups and control groups) who were treated with IFN. Treat groups were given invigorating the liver and tonifying the kidney FANG.The two groups were treated 6 mounthes.Results:Two groups' nervous were alleviated, but there were no significant different in the control groups compared with treated before(P0.05). Treat groups' HBV-DNA (-) and sympotems were more effective than control groups(P0.05).Conclusion Invigorating the liver and tonifying the kidney can improve the symptom, reinforce the efficacy of IFN, precipitate HBV-DNA alteration negative.Cite
Objective:To study the effects of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) with function of invigorating Qi and toni-fying kidney on the expression of CD28 at spleen and maternal-fetal interface in abortion-prone mice during pregnancy.Methods:CBA female mice were mated to DBA /2 male mice to establish an abortion-prone model.The female micewere divided randomly into 4 groups(5 in each):control group(NS group):drenched normal saline everyday since the firstday of gestation;western medicine(WM) group(cyclosporine group):drenched cyclosporine solution once on the 4th day ofgestation;TCM group:drenched the TCM decoction with the function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney everyday since the first day of gestation;and TCM-WM(TCM decoction+cyclosporine)group:drenched the TCM decoction every-day since the first day and cyclosporine solution on the 4th day of gestation.On the 14th day of gestation,the mice werekilled in batches and their spleen and maternal-fetal interface tissues were made into single cell suspension to detect theexpression of CD28 by flow cytometry(FCM).Results:The expression of CD28 in spleen tissues in NS group,cy-closporine group,TCM-WMgroup,and TCMgroup was from high to lowin order and it was significantly lower in the lat-ter 3 groups as compared with the NS group(P0.05).The expression of CD28 at maternal-fetal interface in the NS,TCM,cyclosporine,and TCM-WM group was from high to low in order,with a significant difference between the TCM-WM group and the NS,TCM and cyclosporine groups(P0.05) and between the TCM and WM groups and the NS group(P0.05).Conclusion:TCM with function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney may reduce the expression of CD28 in abortion-prone mice.

Objective: To study the effect of prescription with functuon of tonifying the kidney on the resistance ability against pathogenic escherichia coli and phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system(RES)in newborn mice with intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR),and to investigate the theory of TCM:'the kidney being the origin of congential constitution and foundation of reproduction and development of an individual','invigorating the mother to benefit the children'.Method: The pregnant mice were randomly divided into 6 groups.The control group was fed normally.In model group,the pregnant mice were fed with alcohol on the 7th day,ig,12 mL·kg-1,for 14 days.In other 4 experiment groups,the pregnant mice were fed respectively by Zuogui Wan(ZGW,a prescription for reinforcing kidney Yin) or Yougui Wan(YGW,a prescription for reinforcing kidney Yang)or Wuzi Yanzong Wan(WZYZW,a prescription for reinforcing both of kidney Yang and kidney Yin)or Sijunzi decoction(SJZD,a prescription for supplementing Qi) ig,30 g·kg-1,30 mL·kg-1,for 14 days,at the same time.After birth,the newborn mice were infected with pathogenic escherichia coli,the phagocytic functions of reticuloendothelial system(RES)were detected.Result: In the treated groups,the survival rate of newborn mice infected by pathogenic escherichia coli(8) for 24 hours was higher than that in model group(P0.05) and control group(P0.05).The phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system(RES)in model group(K:1.15±0.14,α:5.68±2.63)was markedly lower than control group(2.14±0.14,9.26±1.67,P0.05).The phagocytic function in the treated group was markedly higher than that in model group(ZGW:2.54±0.12,8.51±1.94,P0.05,YGW:0.98±0.07,8.86±1.76,P0.05,WZYZW:2.28±0.09,8.70±1.32,P0.05).But same result was not found in for supplementing Qi group.Conclusion: Prescriptions with function of tonifying the kidney like ZGW can enhance immunologic functions in newborn mice with IUGR.And this may provide an evidence for the theory-'the kidney being the origin of congential constitution and foundation of reproduction and development of an individual ','invigorating the mother to benefit the children'in TCM from the aspect of immune theory.

Objective To investigate the effects of different herbs on the cytokine variation in intraperitoneal fluid of endometriosis model rats. Methods 24 model rats with endometriosis were separated randomly into 4 groups (n=6): group A treated with tonifying the kidney and promoting blood circulation, group B with promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis, group C with simple tonifying the kidney, and group D with normal saline as control. The levels of IFN-r, IL-2 and IL-10 in intraperitoneal fluid were detected. Results The levels of IFN-r and IL-2 increased and IL-10 decreased significantly in group A compared with the control group (P0.01). There was not significant difference in IFN-r, IL-2 and IK-10 between group B or C and the control group. Conclusions The curative effect of tonifying the kidney and promoting blood circulation is better than promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis or simple tonifying the kidney in the treatment of endometriosis.

Objective To discuss the effect of Chinese medicine on protein kinase C(PKC)activity in liver and kidney of nude mice with stomach cancer.Methods Thirty nude mice out of 40 were selected randomly and armpit inoculated with human gastric cancer cells SGC-7901. The nude mice were randomly divided into model group,tonifying spleen control group and tonifying spleen anticancer group,with 10 mice in each group. The rest of 10 mice were divided into blank group. The mice in blank group and model group were treated with normal saline,tonifying spleen control group was treated with Chinese medicine with replenishing qi effect,tonifying spleen anticancer group was treated with Chinese medicine with combined replenishing qi and anticancer effects,with 0. 8 ml each and for 14 days by gavage. The condition of the liver and kidney tissue were observed and the weights were measured. The organ coefficients were counted and the PKC activities in liver and kidney were tested by Western Blot method. Results Compared with blank group,the liver coefficient and kidney coefficient in model group were decreased,with significant difference between the two groups(P 0. 05); compared with model group,the liver coefficient and kidney coefficient in tonifying spleen control group and tonifying spleen anticancer group were increased significantly(P 0. 05). The PKC activities in liver and kidney of the model group were significantly higher than that of the blank group. After treatment,the PKC activities in liver and kidney of the tonifying spleen group and tonifying spleen anticancer group were lower than that of the model group,and the PKC activity in tonifying spleen anticancer group was lower than that of the tonifying spleen control group significantly(P 0. 01). Conclusion Spleen deficiency symptom is very common in mice with gastric cancer. Chinese medicine has regulatory effect on the body weight,liver weight,kidney weight,liver coefficient,kidney coefficient and PKC activities in nude mice. Moreover,the Chinese medicine with replenishing spleen qi and anticancer effects has better regulatory effect on PKC activities than that with replenishing spleen qi effect.

Objective:To explore adjusting liver and spleen prescription and tonifying liver and kidney prescription on erythrocyte immune and cytokines of adjuvant rats by observing the serum cytokines interleukin-4(IL-4),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and the ratio and erythrocyte immune function.Methods:According to body weight,Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group,model group,adjusting liver and spleen prescription group,tonifying liver and kidney pre-scription group,torch-gen-chip group,fenbid group.The autoimmune arthritis rats were induced by proinflammatory adjuvant method.The serum IL-4,IFN-γ were detected by ELISA method,and erythrocyte immune function were test-ed by RBC-C3b rosette and its receptors.Results:The serum IFN-γ/IL-4 ratio of the model group was significantly increased(P 0.01).RBC-C3b rosette receptor rate was significantly lower(P 0.01),RBC-IC rosette rate significantly increased(P 0.01).Each treating group could significantly improve these indexes,and the adjusting liver and spleen prescription group had the best effection to recover the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 to resume and to lower RBC-IC rosette rate.Conclusion:Adjusting liver and spleen prescription has significent effects on regulating cytokines and clearing away the harmful immune complexes of adjuvant rats.

Objective: Investigate deeply the therapeutic effect of recuperating kidney and invigorating spleen prescription on rats with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome to provide experimental basis for the correlation study of spleen and kidney in the process of osteoporosis occurrence.Methods: Establish a rat osteoporosis model with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome.On this basis,treat the model rats respectively with prescriptions of positive control,recuperating kidney,invigorating spleen,recuperating kidney and invigorating spleen.After three months administration,measure the indexes of TBV%,TRS%,TFS%,OSW,MAR and mAR,which can reflect the bone mass,bone formation and bone resorption.Results: Compared with the sham operation group,TBV% in spleen and kidney deficiency model group decreased significantly(P0.01),TRS%,TFS%,OSW,MAR and mAR increased significantly(P0.01).Compared with the model group,TBV% in all treatment groups increased obviously(P0.05,P0.01),TRS%,TFS%,OSW,MAR and mAR decreased obviously(P0.01).Compared with invigorating spleen group,TBV% increased and TRS%,TFS% decreased obviously in recuperating kidney group and recuperating kidney and invigorating spleen group(P0.05,P0.01),and the later reversed these indicators more significant(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusion: The methods of recuperating kidney,invigorating spleen,recuperating kidney and invigorating spleen have therapeutic effects on rats with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome,and the methods of recuperating kidney and invigorating spleen work best.It points that in the process of osteoporosis,spleen and kidney of Chinese medicine are closely related.

Objective To observe the effects of Traditional Chinese Medical remedy of strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney and detoxification combined with Western Medicine on peripheral blood cytokines IL-2 and IFN-γ in patients with chronic HBV infection.Methods 120 patients with chronic HBV infection were randomly divided into control group,strengthening the spleen group,tonifying the kidney group and detoxification group,with 30 patients in each group.The control group was treated with lamivudine.The strengthening the spleen group was given lamivudine and Sijunzi decoction.The tonifying the kidney group was given lamivudine and Liuwei Dihuang pills.The detoxification group was given lamivudine and Ganlu Xiaodu pills.The treatment course was 1 year.The levels of serum IL-2 and IFN-γ were measured before and after treatments.Results Before treatments,the differences of serum cytokine levels among 4 groups were not statistically significant(P0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum IL-2 and IFN-γ increased significantly in 4 groups(P0.05).Compared with control group,the levels of serum IL-2 and IFN-γ in strengthening the spleen group and tonifying the kidney group increased significantly after treatments(P0.05,P0.01),and the changes were most obvious in tonifying the kidney group(with statistic differences)(P0.05).There was no significant difference between detoxification group and strengthening the spleen group after treatments(P0.05).Conclusion The method of tonifying the kidney is better than strengthening the spleen and detoxification methods to improve the imbalance of cytokine IL-2 and IFN-γ in patients with chronic HBV infection.

Objective: To observe the effect of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) with function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney on the expression of natural killer(NK) cells at spleen and maternal-fetal interface in abortion-prone mice during pregnancy.Methods: CBA female mice were mated to DBA /2 male mice as an abortion-prone model.Drenched the TCM decoction we've made with function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney everyday since day 0 of gestation;And compared with Cyclosporin A.On the 9th and 14th day of gestation,the mice were killed in batches and their splenic and decidual tissues were made into single cell suspension to detect the expression of NK cells by FCM.Results: on the 9th day of gestation,the expressions of NK cells at spleen and decidual tissues in all of the therapeutic groups were reduced obviously,comparing with the result in negative control group(P0.01~0.05);on the 14th day of gestation,the expressions of NK cells at spleen in all of the therapeutic groups were reduced obviously,comparing with the result in negative control group(P0.05),and the expressions of NK cells at maternal-fetal interface,the TCM-WM intervention made the greatest promotion,having a significant difference with the negative control group(P0.05) while the TCM group and CSA group had no obvious difference with the negative control group(P0.05).Conclusion: The traditional Chinese medicine with the function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney could decrease the expression of NK cells at spleen and early pregnancy of decidual tissues in bortion-prone mice.The traditional Chinese medicine with function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney Combined with CSA could decrease the expression of NK cells at decidual tissues in middle and late gestaton of bortion-prone mice.Therefore the traditional Chinese medicine with function of invigorating Qi and tonifying kidney has certain immunomodulatory effects.

Objective:To study the clinical efficacy about method of tonifying kidney and invigorating spleen for removing turbidity in treating PCOS of insulin resistance. Methods:To count and analyze efficacy of the two groups,the treatment group with 34 cases for PCOS of insulin resistance was treated with method of tonifying kidney and invigorating spleen for removing turbidity and western medicine while the control group with 34 cases for PCOS of insulin resistance was treated with western medicine alone. Results:The levels of LH,T,FIN,HOMA-IR and BMI in treatment group and control group became significantly lower than before and the level of E2 was significantly increased than before. There was a significant difference before and after treatment(P0.05). Comparison of the two groups after treatment,the levels of LH,T,FIN,HOMA-IR and BMI in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group. There was statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion:Method of tonifying kidney and invigorating spleen for removing turbidity can improve the level of sex hormones and insulin resistance for the patients with PCOS of insulin resistance,better than using Western medicine alone.

Objective To compare the influences of formulas with actions of soothing liver,invigorating spleen or soothing liver and invigorating spleen on immune system in rat model of liver-stagnation and spleen-deficiency syndrome.Method All rats were randomly divided into the normal control group(group 1),group of liver-stagnation and spleen-deficiency syndrome(group 2),Chaihushugan Powder group(group 3),Sijunzi Decoction group(group 4) and Chaishusijun Decoction group(group 5,each n=12).The model was established in group 2,3,4 and 5 by chronic restraint-fatigue-diet disorder method for 4 weeks.Group 3,4 and 5 were given orally the relevant formulas(10 mL/g) for 2 weeks at the end of 2nd week,and group 1 and 2 were given equivalent distilled water.On the 29th day all rats were killed and serum interleukin-2(IL-2), interleukin-6(IL-6) and proliferation rate of T lymphocytes were detected.Result Compared with group 1,serum IL-2,IL-6 and proliferation rate of T lymphocytes decreased significantly in group 2(P0.05).Compared with group 2,serum IL-2 increased significantly in group 3,4 and 5(P0.05),serum IL-6 increased significantly in group 3 and 5(P0.05),and proliferation rate of T lymphocytes increased significantly in group 5(P0.05).Conclusion Formulas with actions of soothing liver,invigorating spleen or soothing liver and invigorating spleen can relieve the hypoimmune state of the model of liver-stagnation and spleen-deficiency syndrome,among them Chzishusijun Decoction is the best.Formulas with actions of soothing liver and invigorating spleen is related more closely to liver-stagnation and spleen-deficiency syndrome.
