After ten years of curriculum reform,there has appeared a comparatively typical view that there is a trend of only westernization in the reform,which is agreed upon by many researchers.As a matter of fact,the only westernization is solely a pseudo proposition.In our curriculum reform there is the trend of only westernization in theory,which is actually the real implementation of traditional teaching ideas and the concrete methods.In the curriculum reform,we should avoid the possible only westernization.

Translation of the books is one of the main cause of Westernization Group in the Westernization Movement. And Christian missionaries are the main force. They introduced the modern textbooks to westernization schools and made them more standardized and scientific. On the other hand, they propagated western science and technology actively, edited and translated western books, which affected the changes of the notion of Chinese scholastic class and the social value. What they had done promoted westernization education to the depth and accelerated the disintegration of the imperial examination system.

In the academic world,ideas are different about the relations between the Reform Group and the Westernization Group,and between the thoughts of the two groups.The author of this paper thinks,in the 60s and 90s of the 19th century,there appeared in the Chinese society a new trend of thoughts,that was the Westernization Thoughts.The early thoughts of Reform and Westernization thoughts are the Left Wing and the Right Wing of the trend of thoughts.
