0bjective To explore the correlation between growth differentiation factor 15(GDF-15),cardiac troponin I(cTnI) and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) and the short-term prognosis value of GDF-15.Methods We selected 122 subjects who had acute myocardial infarction with onset 12 h,with follow-up average 12 months and 40 normal coronary angiography(CAG) were set as control group. The serum GDF-15 and BNP were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA);The serum cTnI were measured by immunofluorometric assay technique. The clinical main adverse cardiac events(MACE) including cardiac death, heart failure, myocardial infarction or recurrent angina pectoris were recorded during hospitalization and follow-up.Results Compared with control subjects, level of GDF-15 and BNP were higher in patients with AMI including ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) and No ST-elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI)(P 0.05).Positive correlations between GDF-15,cTnI and BNP were observed by Spearman correlations analysis. In the AMI patients,GDF-15 level was elevated in patients with MACE compared with patients without MACE.Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the GDF-15 level was independently associated with MACE during average 12 months(odds ratio = 0.79,95% CI:0.67 ~ 0.84,P 0.05).Conclusions There is positive correlation between the level of GDF-15,cTnI and BNP.of patients with AMI.The serum level of GDF-15 is associated with short-term prognosis in patients with AMI.

Objective To investigate the relationship plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)level and left ventricular remodling(LVR) and ejection fraction(EF) after acute myocardial infarction. Methods BNP was determined in 21 acute myocardial infarction.Left ventricular diastolic diameter(LVDd) and.Left ventricular systolic diameter(LVDs) was measured in echocardiography and calculated left ventricular end diastolic volume(LVEDV) and left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV)and EF.Results BNP was significantly high in 21 myocardial infarction and more significantly higher in LVR group(P0.01).BNP was positive relation with LVDd and LVEDV and LVESV(r=0.44,0.48,(0.62;)P0.05,0.05,0.01)and negative relation with EF(r=-0.64,P0.01).Conclusion BNP can be a simple and available sign in diaganosis and finding LVR.

To observe the serum B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) changes post acute myocardial infarction (AMI).The serum BNP level was determined in 230 consecutive patients with AMI admitted to CCU and in 111 normal cases from October 2002 to October 2003 in Fuwai Hospital. The 230 AMI patients were further divided into various subgroups according to first or recurrent AMI, ST elevations myocardial infarction (STEMI) or non-ST elevations myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) group, infarction location, coronary arteries involved, infarction related arteries (IRA), TIMI blood flow of IRA and primary PCI or not. Serum BNP, CK-MB, TnT and heart function were analyzed. The serum BNP level was significantly increased in patients with AMI (553.7 +/- 735.1) ng/L than that in normal subjects [(26.4 +/- 27.4) ng/L, P < 0.05]. LVEF was significantly lower, and LVEDd, BNP and LnBNP were all significantly higher in the first time AMI group compared to recurrent AMI group (all P < 0.001). The BNP level were significantly higher in AMI patients with single or triple coronary arteries stenosis than those without coronary stenosis (P < 0.05), in TIMI blood flow 0 - 1 and 2 groups than in TIMI 3 group (all P < 0.001). The CK-MB and TnT were significantly increased while BNP significantly decreased in the patients underwent primary PCI group compared with patients did not receive PCI therapy (all P < 0.05 - 0.001).Serum BNP was significantly elevated in patients after AMI but decreased after successful primary PCI in patients with AMI.

Objective To investigate the plassma levels of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI),and estimate its value in the risk stratification. Methods The BNP and the serum levels of hs-CRP were detected in 128 cases with non-AMI and 120 cases with AMI.Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and left ventilator posterior wall thickness growing rate at systole(△T%) were measured by echocardiography. Results Compared with control group,AMI patients had high serum levels of hs-CRP.The higher the killip class was,the higher the levels of hs-CRP and BNP were. The concentration BNP and hs-CRP in AMI patients had a parallel rationship with LVEDD(P 0.05),but a nenative correlation with left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)(P 0.05).Conclusion The concentration of BNP and hs-CRP can help to evaluate the risk stratification and prognosis in patients with AMI.

Objective: We hypothesized that elevated B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) levels would be associated with a greater severity of angiographic disease and a greater extent of myocardium at risk in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods: In this retrospective study, consecutive 149 patients with STEMI and 63 with NSTEMI were included. These patients were separated into STEMI group and NSTEMI group. Results: The proportion of previous MI(12.7%) and PTCA(15.9%) and left ventricular ejection fraction in NSTEMI group was higher than STEMI group.Circumflex artery as the culprit vessel was more often in NSTEMI group(38.1%) than in STEMI group(12.1%,P0.0001).There was no correlation between BNP level and the number of narrowed coronary artery in patients with AMI.In STEMI group,BNP level was higher when LAD as culprit vessel than circumflex artery or right coronary artery. In NSTEMI group, there was no correlation between BNP levels and culprit lesion location. Conclusions: BNP levels were higher in patients with STEMI with anterior wall location.BNP had no predictive value on culprit lesion location in patients with NSTEMI.

OBJECTIVE To study the association between the plasma concentration of brain natriuretic peptide and severity?left ventricular function?prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI). METHODS Sixty-three patients with acute myocardial infarction were enrolled in this study. The plasma concentration of BNP were measured at 24 hours after infarction. The infarction areas were measured according to the electrocardiogram. Left ventricular function was evaluated by echocardiography with the parameters of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)after one week. Patients were followed up for three months, and their main adverse cardiac events (angina pectoris, sudden death et al) in patients of AMI were observed. RESULTS The concentration of BNP in patient with AMI was related with severity of the disease, the BNP increasd (P0.01),with the enlargement of infarction areas while with the decrease of LVEF,the BNP increased (P0.05). The development of any clinical main adverse cardiac events (depth/CHF/reinfarction) occurred more frequently in patients with a higher plasma BNP level(P=0.02). CONCLUSION Plasma concentration of BNP in patients with AMI might be a reliable biochemical marker for predicting the severity and prognosis of this disease.
