    Abstract:
There are two kinds of interference in a communication system: multipath and multiaddress interference. Using A RAKE receiver in a direct sequence spread spectrum system is an efficient method of anti-multipath interference, and multistage interference cancellation technology we can be used for anti-multiaddress interference. Combining a RAKE receiver with multistage interference cancellation, multipath and multiaddress interference can be removed at the same time.

We introduce both the power and delay capture effect in BER performance analysis of the conventional RAKE receiver for DPSK modulated signals. Depending on the inter-arrival times between the useful and interfering frames from simultaneously transmitting stations, the interference signal noise can be highly correlated or uncorrelated with the DSSS signal from the captured frame.

Multipath effect is one of the major influence to communication performance. For the purpose to remove the multiprth interference,a modified Rake receiver which is based on serial interference cancellation method is proposed in this paper.Principles and performances are analysed. And Matlab simulation tests are carried out.Last, performances of the modified Rake reciver and the Rake receiver which based on serial interference cancellation are compared. The simulation result indicates that the Rake receiver performance is improved apparently.

We choose direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS)technologies combined with Rake receiver under the modulation of BPSK to establish the communication modem. The performance of the modem is extensively investigated by MATLAB based simulation. We analysis the bit error rates (BER) against signal to noise ratio (SNR) corresponding to different parameter settings, for instance, under different Pseudo noise (PN)codes, the long of PN code period, the modulation schemes. Regarding to the Rake receiver, we also compare the scatter plots to deduce whether rake has better performance than without rake, furthermore we change the taps of the rake and diversity combining schemes to continue comparing the BER performance. The modem is implemented in a linear time invariant (LTI)channel model.

This paper presents extensive results of a laboratory test held to examine the conditions under which analog PAL-G and spread spectrum systems can share spectrum. RF TV protection ratios for adjacent and co-channel spread spectrum interference are derived. For the PAL signal two different received levels, giving undistorted baseband SNR 42 and 37 dB respectively, are examined. Different spread spectrum RF bandwidths and carrier frequency offsets between the analog and digital signal are also included in the experiments. Results for all possible interference conditions and cases are presented in tables and 3-D charts.

One of the measures accounting for the decline in the mobile communication is diversity receiving, the implementation of diversity receiving in the direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) system is the RAKE receiver. In order to solving the problem about the exorbitant consuming of the correlators,a FPGA design method of improved RAKE receiver about the DSSS signal is presented. Finally, the test results are given.

A pilot-based serial multipath interference cancellation method and the corresponding RAKE receiver are proposed. Theoretical analysis and computer simulations are carried out, and a comparison with a conventional RAKE receiver is performed. It is shown that RAKE receiver performance can be improved using this method with simple structure and easy implementation.

A new signal reception method, multipath interference exchange reduction (MIXR), that reduces multipath interference in direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems is described. This method uses a despread signal at a timing correlated with the interference in the conventional despread signal before RAKE combining. It is especially effective in the downlink receiver of DS-CDMA systems in which the downlink signals of all users are received with the same fading channels. One computer simulation showed that the BER of the proposed method is 1-2 dB better than that of a conventional RAKE receiver. Other simulations showed that the MIXR receiver is more sensitive than conventional RAKE receivers.

Acoustic communications using a direct‐sequence spread spectrum modulation with a RAKE receiver was tested during the KauaiEx experiment (in Hawaii). The oceanography was measured along the communications path during this test, so that the propagation of the communications transmissions could be subsequently modeled. Such simultaneous measurements provide a continuous picture of how the ocean waveguide evolved during the transmissions, enabling us to isolate what was influencing communications performance. This paper presents an analysis of DSSS Rake receiver performance at this shallow water coastal site.

Because OFDM offers a very good way to ,- inter-symbol-interference under multi-path conditions, it seems to he the prime choice of modulation method for future packet, transmission Systans. This advantage though isobtained at the expense of,the need for sufficient guard interval length. An interference canceller scheme for OFDM is thus presented in this paper, which can shorten the necessary guard interval length and the pkformance of this scheme confirmed via simulation.
