Abstract:
Logo recognition is an important issue in document image, advertisement, and intelligent transportation. Although there are many approaches to study logos in these fields, logo recognition is an essential subprocess. Among the methods of logo recognition, the descriptor is very vital. The results of moments as powerful descriptors were not discussed before in terms of logo recognition. So it is unclear which moments are more appropriate to recognize which kind of logos. In this paper we find out the relations between logos with different transforms and moments, which moments are fit for logos with different transforms. The open datasets are employed from the University of Maryland. The comparisons based on moments are carried out from the aspects of logos with noise, and rotation, scaling, rotation and scaling.Keywords:

Logos as a visual cue can help firms communicate their unique identities and capture consumers' attention. Despite the importance and prevalent use of logos, the logo literature remains fragmented. Hence, this article attempts to provide an overarching research framework based on an extensive and comprehensive review of the existing logo literature. Specifically, we review 124 studies published in business journals over the past 30 years, and classify them into six major research topics: 1) theoretical foundations, 2) logo design/redesign, 3) basic logo elements, 4) additional logo elements, 5) outcomes of logo use, and 6) practical applications of logo use. Finally, we suggest future research directions for academics and provide practitioners with guidelines that help manage logos for their businesses.

In the image captured by the camera in a moving vehicle, there exist various motions due to the change of background, motion of objects in the image that make difficult to extract a pure vibrational motion by the camera. In this paper, we suggest an image stabilization with the elimination of various motion components based on the classification of motions in the image by their characteristics. After the elimination of various local motions, images are compensated and stabilized with the global motion caused by the camera. Also, we suggest an accurate and fast image stabilization by excluding regions of little information based on block differences and edge densities.

In this paper, we propose a new object tracking system using stereo images to improve the performance of the automatic object tracking system. The existing object tracking system has optimum characteristics, but it requires a lot of computation. In the case of the image with a single eye, the system is difficult to estimate and track for the various transformation of the object. Because the stereo image by both eyes is difficult to estimate the translation and the rotation, this paper deals with the tracking method, which has the ability to track the image for translation for real time, with block matching algorithm in order to decrease the calculation. The experimental results demonstrate the usefulness of proposed system with the recognition rate of 88% in the rotation, 89% in the translation, 88% in various image, and with the mean rate of 88.3%.

A new emphasis on corporate and organizational logos has begun. As companies merge, they want a logo that proclaims their new and unified identity. As companies split, they fight custody battles over which has the right to the logo, because the cost of making a logo familiar to the public is high. Other organizations want logos to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive world. As a communicator you may be involved in helping create the logo. The paper examines some of the things to be considered in developing a logo; the article also illustrates both effective and ineffective examples.

This paper presents a framework that can assist destination marketers in developing destination logos. The main goal of a logo is to enhance awareness about the destination and to build a beneficial destination image. Input from three parties should be considered in the process of developing destination logos. These are (i) the logo owner, (ii) the logo developer, and (iii) the logo recipients. A normative model for testing of logos used in destination marketing is delineated, based on input from these contributors. To illustrate practical usage of the model a logo development process is presented, which is conducted by the Fjord Norway destination marketing board. This case study illustrates how the normative model can aid marketers in assessing the potential of tourism logos. Results from three empirical studies show that the destination logo in some sense should match the destinations they represent. Moreover, the results show that the design of the logo is crucial.

In this paper, we suggest a 3D vision inspection method which use only one camera. If we have the database of pattern and can recognize the object, and also estimate the rotated shape of the parts, we can inspect the parts using only one image. We used the 3D database and the 2D geometrical pattern matching, and the rotation transition theory about the algorithm. As the results, we could have the capability of the recognition and inspection of the rotated object through the estimation of rotation an81e. We applied our suggested algorithm to the inspection of typical IC and capacitor, and compared our suggested algorithm with the conventional 2D inspection method and the feature space trajectory method.

The principle of stereo printing is based on the binocular vision and the lenticular sheet is needed to separate left and right view images. Because 2D image loses depth information, 3D objects can not be reconstructed by a single image or only discontinuous, limited deepness layers can be got. A method to reconstruct 3D information and get realistic stereo vision images from a single 2D image is proposed in the paper incase of the surface function of the object is supposed known. This image processing method is useful for making stereo printing images.

The objective of image stabilization is to prevent or remove the motion blur degradation from images. We introduce a new approach to image stabilization based on combining information available in two differently exposed images of the same scene. In addition to the image normally captured by the system, with an exposure time determined by the illumination conditions, a very shortly exposed image is also acquired. The difference between the exposure times of the two images determines differences in their degradations which are exploited in order to recover the original image of the scene. We formulate the problem as a maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation based on the degradation models of the two observed images, as well as by imposing an edge-preserving image prior. The proposed method is demonstrated through a series of simulation experiments, and visual examples on natural images.

Feature-based visual servo determines camera movement by comparing a current feature image and the goal feature image. If optical axis rotation is required to move to the goal position and orientation, the traditional feature-based visual servo makes the camera set back. This set back motion is unnecessary. In addition, if the optical axis rotation approximately amounts to π, the camera cannot reach the goal position because of the set back motion. This paper proposes a new feature-based visual servoing which uses a middle image mabe from a current image and the goal image to improve the optical axis rotation. The validity of the proposed method is verified through numerical simulations.
