    Abstract:
    Performance efforts for the planning of new traffic roads have been enhanced continuously during recent years. From the first planning stage onwards, the design engineer has to fulfill a number of new, additional task. By way of a big project of the German Federal Railways (DB) a large bridge of the planned new construction section Stuttgart - Ulm across the Fils valley in the area of the Swabian Alb, an account is given of modern working- and planning techniques, assisted by computer-aided design (CAD), as applied by the design engineer.

    Bridge information modeling (BrIM) has widely become an efficient tool in the bridge engineering and construction industry. It has been used in pre-fabrication, obtaining accurate quantity surveys, and creating accurate shop drawings. This article presents the utilization of bridge information modeling (BrIM) in determining the optimum construction methods of concrete bridges in bridge projects in Egypt using systematic procedures taking into account: bridge physical properties, construction cost, and site conditions. Bridge information modeling (BrIM) has proven to be an effective tool in determining the optimum construction methods of concrete bridges. The proposed BrIM approach is capable of obtaining feasible construction methods and associated construction costs based on bridge physical characteristics.

    The quality of construction supervision of highway bridge,as one part of road construction,has important influence on the entire highway construction.On the basis of analyzing the preparation of highway bridge construction supervision and quality control strategies,the paper proposes that the bridge construction supervision shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the design documents and related specifications,and analyzes specific issues in practice,to ensure the project quality.

    Bridge structure requires detailed construction planning before construction. The application of BIM technology has provided the possibility for the efficient construction of bridge structures. Construction planning used BIM technology for a newly-built bridge and a renovated bridge were given in this paper. BIM application results for different bridge states of new construction and renovation, such as bridge construction visualization, calculation check, oblique photography, and management platform integration were proposed respectively, which provide guidance for later construction of bridge structure.

    The engineering project of Binhe North Road in Tanghe County covers the Nanquan Ruins.In order to protect the cultural landscape,it was determined to design a viaduct to span the historical cultural sites so as to actively use the space under the bridge.By taking the would-becovered Nanquan Ruins as the key consideration,the following design measures were put forward for the proper use of the space under the bridge:the bridge should be tailored in accordance with the historical heritage;the environment under the bridge should be restored by taking into consideration of the local characteristics;the mirror principle would be followed to create an integrated relationship between the bridge and the landscape;an innovative management for the space under the bridge should be made by working together with the cultural administration.The successful application of viaducts to protect historical landscapes not only expands the application mode of the space under a bridge,but also provides a new applicable method for the protection of historical landscapes.

    Woolpert Consultants is using a three-dimensional computer model, created on a computer aided design (CAD) workstation, to help the cities of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Covington, Kentucky, decide where to place a bridge over the Ohio River. The historic Roebling Bridge will remain in place, with the new bridge designed and aligned in such a way as not to detract from the Roebling Bridge's presence. Further complicating the design and alignment of the new bridge are the economic development plans of each city. The computer model took about four months to build. With it various alternatives available within the given boundaries of the project area were explored and none were found to be suitable. The city officials are now exploring other sites further downstream of the Roebling Bridge. Equipment costs were under $15,000 to produce the computer model using an IBM 386 PC and AutoCAD and AutoShade software from Autodesk, Inc., Sausalito, California.

Програма передбачає вивчення загальних вимог до проектування і будівництва транспортних споруд, що зводяться або розміщені на майданчиках із складними інженерно-геологічними умовами, в гірських місцевостях та районах з можливою сейсмічною активністю, а також в умовах відкритого моря. Викладені основні прийоми розрахунку великопрогонових конструкцій і їх окремих елементів. The subject of the study of the discipline Design and construction of bridge structures under special is the road bridges and other transport facilities, which are in special conditions of construction and operation. It is an integral part of the development and formation of modern principles of designing objects of professional activity, obtaining practical skills in the use of structures and methods of calculating the transport structures. The program provides for the study of general requirements for the design and construction of transport constructions that are being erected or located on sites with complex engineering and geological conditions, in mountainous areas and areas with possible seismic activity, as well as in open sea conditions. The basic methods of calculation of large-beam structures and their separate elements are outlined.
