    Abstract:
    Nowadays the use of video conference tools from mobile devices is becoming more widespread. Unfortunately, solutions based only on the security features inherited from the operator infrastructure cannot be blindly trusted. Therefore, the need for secure communication tools is rapidly increasing. Currently, voice and video communication tools are considered unreliable when used in either a mobile context or under poor signal strength conditions. This is particularly true for IP connections routed on the Packet-Switched Domain (PSD) over 3G mobile networks. This paper presents the design and the implementation of SECR3T (Secure End-to-End Communication over 3G Telecommunication Networks), a fully-fledged secure communication system for mobile devices based on the native Circuit-Switched Domain (CSD) of 3G networks. To the authors knowledge, this is the first solution for secure communication over the CSD of 3G networks. The security schemes implemented by SECR3T include mutual end-to-end authentication as well as data encryption. The adopted end-to-end security mechanisms have been embedded within the native 3G-324M protocol and do not require any form of interaction with the mobile network operator. Relying on the CSD, SECR3T provides a better QoS with respect to the PSD based solutions for 3G networks. It also requires less power consumption as the user is registered once on the Base Station (BS), with the handset not having to implement any heavy keep-alive protocols. In order to prove the effectiveness of the adopted strategy, a prototype was implemented to compare its performance with the well-known PSD solutions. Subsequently, the authors experimentally evaluated the security strengths and the impacts produced on the user experience with respect to traditional tools using CSD.

The future content explains the operation of the Cellular system and the Cellular principle. The future scope of mobile and Cellular communication has also been explained.

    This communication presents a study showing that cellular phone usage duration have got a significant effect on the power control in mobile cellular networks. This is because the long-time operation (transmitting and receiving) of the cellular phone radio hardware cause the wearing-out of radio elements. Hence, the operation of worn-out radio elements introduces power control errors and this degrades the performance of the power control algorithms. And this result in poor power control of the excessive transmitted power, hence the interference caused, compels a handset to violate the EMC regulations. This degrades the quality of the mobile cellular services. The paper also presents a derived power control performance model for a handset.

    Mobile phones in the 3G/4G era enable us to stay connected not only to the voice network, but also to online services like social networks. In this paper, we study the energy and network costs of mobile applications that provide continuous online presence (e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype). By combining measurements taken on the mobile and the cellular access network, we reveal a detailed picture of the mechanisms selected to implement online presence, along with their effect on handset energy consumption and network signaling traffic.

    The methods to compare the performances of different primary standards of 3G mobile telecommunication are presented in the paper, and the technical defects probably existed in WCDMA and cdma2000 standards have been pointed out in principle by some important technical quota such as transmission power of handset, self-interference of the system and so on. The reasonableness of the methods for performance comparison have been proved by the construction status of the 3G mobile network in the world. Perhaps, the great loss of investment for the construction of 3G mobile network in our country could be avoided if the conclusion provided in the paper to be considered.

    Based on the ITU standards and other published documents analysis this paper reports in a systematic form the main directions of development of mobile telephone handset systems from first generation analog to global information infrastructure systems. The proposed systematic table presents the correlation between current and elaborating systems and highlights new goals and opportunities during each stage of development. The discussed points are also multimode operation of the multistandard and the terrestrial/satellite systems.
