We report experimental observations obtained by particule image velocimetry (PIV) of the behavior of a flow driven by rotation and precession of a cylindrical container. Various hydrodynamical regimes are identified according to the value of the control parameter which is the ratio of the precession frequency to the rotation frequency. In particular when this parameter is increased from small values, we have observed an induced differential rotation followed by the apparition of permanent cyclonic vortices.

Precession, which is the rolling motion of the drillstring on the walls of the borehole, is investigated by considering the various possible motions of a rotating disk in a circular hole. Due to the simplicity of the model, closed-form results are derived on the stability of precession and on the evolution of impacting motions towards precession. It is found that increasing coefficients of friction and contact damping have a favoring effect on precession, while the stiffness and damping of the drillstring bending mode have an opposing effect.

Start with cement magnetism,concrete's magnetism is studied.By basic theory and experiment method of magnetics,Pot-land cement's magnetism is studied.It can be known by the hysteresis curve gained by experiment result that Potland cement and composite cement have some iron-magnetism characteristics under function of added magnetic field,while the white cement shows weak magnetism.It has been given that the index value is2.0Gs when indentify cement magnetism on base of quantitative analysis of the characteristics.

Magnetism in two-dimensional (2D) materials, that is, a 2D version of the magnetism of three-dimensional bulk materials, and the associated novel physics have recently been the focus of many spintronics researchers. Here we investigate the manipulation of 2D magnetism at the interfaces of ferromagnetic/ferroelectric hematene/BaTiO3(001) heterostructures (HSs) fabricated via a precisely chosen sequence. By introducing four types of interfaces of 2D hematene and three-dimensional BaTiO3 that induce different oxygen environments, the control of magnetism is directly demonstrated from first-principles. An obvious 2D electron gas originates from the Fe-3d and O-2p hybridization; the electron gas is sensitive to the interfacial atomic displacements. Robust control of both the direction and magnitude of the net magnetization has been realized for an Fe/TiO2 terminated bilayer HS. The electron occupancies of the dxy and dxz orbitals and changes to the Fe-O bond play a key role in determining the magnetism of our systems. Our work not only demonstrates the technique's potential for manipulating magnetism in 2D hematene, but also sheds light on the underlying mechanism and the fundamental properties of hematene HSs.
