    Pullout Behavior of Multiple Suction Pile Anchors with Various Sections Using Numerical Analysis

    Abstract:
    As the size of offshore structures has been increasing, the interest for foundation systems with large capacity is also rising. Along with this trend, studies are in progress on suction piles (widely used as mooring anchor systems) which can develop large capacity. In this paper, the concept of multiple suction pile anchors - which are composed of several suction piles connected in parallel - is introduced. Two types of multiple suction pile anchors are presented. In one type, two single-suction piles are connected. The other type is composed of three single-suction piles connected in parallel. The pullout behavior of the single-suction pile anchor and the two types of multiple suction pile anchors are investigated using numerical analysis. Numerical simulations using Abaqus software are performed and the three-dimensional model is deployed to duplicate the body shape of suction pile anchors. The load and displacement of the suction pile anchors are computed under continuous horizontal loading, and the pullout capacity of each type of suction pile anchors is evaluated.

    Low pile foundation is spacious used to process irrigation structure. In Vietnam it is effectively used to process irrigation structure in the north plains. However, when calculating load of the foundation works, it was mainly calculated to transmit to pile omitted load transmit to surrounding soil, in fact the load was transmitted to surrounding soil. So the lager number of piles were used to process foundation, it caused waste of piles and economics. Therefor calculating pile foundation, as calculated the interaction interaction between Soil, piles and irrigation structure will reduce the number of piles in the foundation, and when the irrigation structures were deformation tested by software and measured in actual condition, the results showed that the irrigation structures were guaranteed to work as the normal design criteria. Now in Vietnam some of pump stations and aqueducts are applied the interaction between Soil, piles and irrigation structure to process foundation.

    Being one of the three key knots guaranteeing safety and reliability of pile foundation,pile foundation inspection occupies an irreplaceable position in engineering.In the past years,many pile foundation inspection methods have been invented,including static pile trialing and dynamic pile trialing.Firstly,pile foundation inspection methods commonly used currently in China and abroad are introduced,together with its the advantages and limitations,and then the prospect for future pile foundation inspection is given.

    Abstract There are many shallow treatment methods for soft foundation, CFG pile composite foundation is one of the common treatment methods. In this paper, the application of CFG pile in multi-storey residential building is introduced, it is pointed out that CFG pile composite foundation is a simple, rapid, economical and effective foundation treatment method.

    Empirical formula of downward load of pile foundation is presented based on analyzing characteristic of negative frictional resistance of pile foundation. Feasibility of the proposed formula is verified by a deviation correction engineering of deep pile foundation, which supplies theoretical foundation for application of negative frictional resistance of pile foundation on building inclination correcting engineering and supplies an effective method for building inclination correcting technology of deep pile foundation.

    Adopting sand pile, plaster pile and cement pile and etc to deal with soft and weak foundation which becomes compound foundation is a common method in foundation treatment. The paper discusses a few problems which shoud be paid an attention to in the aspects of design, execution and load-bearing capacity determination when compound foundation with sand method is applied.

    According to the practice of foundation treatment in Wu-Guang passenger dedicated line,the treatment process and quality inspection of CFG pile foundation were analysed in Yueyang section.The analysis results show: the measurement for treating the soft foundation is reasonable with long spiral dill to pump the mixture and the toe of pile,which can reach the necessary depth.In the course of pile formation,the quality of pile could be guaranted.And after the treatment,the bearing capacity and settlement of the foundation can meet the requirements of ballastless track foundation.

    In high back fill soft soil foundation,the settlement causes foundation pile to bear some negative friction load.The study on friction of pile foundation was carried out on the basis of combining in-situ test pile of the work and adopting finite element numerical simulation and empiric formula estimated method,the distribution regulation of negative friction of foundation pile in Yangshan area has been known well,it can give a reference to similar works.

    A design method of compound piled foundation is presented,which consists of cement mixing pile and the sinking pipe pile foundation of the old building. The method can be applied to the designing of a compound piled foundation in the old pile foundation of a dismantled building.
