Abstract:
In view of requirements for better position accuracy, response time and stability of hydraulic system, it is more important than ever to pay attention to bulk modulus of hydraulic oil. The effects of the bulk modulus of hydraulic oil on system performance are analyzed. Based on the theoretical model, studies on the effects of air content, pressure and temperature on bulk modulus are done though simulation. An online measuring device of bulk modulus of hydraulic oil is designed according to the definition of bulk modulus. The simulation and experiment results show that the method of analysis and measurement of bulk modulus provided is very useful to confirming the oil bulk modulus in real hydraulic system.Keywords:

The paper introduces a new approach,the principle of hydraulic pressure to measure Young's modulus,that is to employ the amplification of displacement resulted from the hydraulic pressure to show the micro change.The approach improves the traditional instruments by using amplifier of the displacement of the hydraulic pressure.The approach provided a new solution to measure Young's modulus through the analysis of the principle,argumentation of the error and results of the experiment.

Abstract : Bulk modulus is a measure a fluid's compressibility. In fuel systems, the bulk modulus of the fuel can have a significant impact on fuel behavior and performance in engines by affecting injection timing. While the behavior of most petroleum-derived fuels are well-understood, the emergence of new bio-based and synthetic fuels have demonstrated some properties that are beyond current experience. Therefore, as part of a complete fit-for-purpose analysis, the need for a bulk modulus test rig was identified. The objective of this effort was to design and build a test rig for measuring isentropic bulk modulus at pressures and temperatures up to 30,000 psi and 100 deg C, respectively. To-date, the measurement of high pressure/temperature speed-of-sound on several fluids has been successfully demonstrated. Plans are underway to incorporate a high pressure/temperature densitometer to improve the bulk modulus accuracy.

The paper gives an introduction of the experimental measurement method for bulk modulus of elasticity which is an important physical parameter of polymer melt. With Polypropylene as experimental material and through the mutual relationship analysis of experiment data, it is proposed in the paper the soft measurement model for the bulk modulus of elasticity of polymer melt established on the basis of BP neural network in accordance with the characteristics of neural network modeling and then on-line measurement of the bulk modulus of elasticity of polymer melt is realized. Both the experimental method and modeling method have innovative studies on method of measuring the bulk modulus of elasticity of polymer melt, and all these have significant and constructive guiding for the precision molding process of polymer.

With the development of numerical calculation,more and more researchers and scholars showgreat interest in FLAC3D software, in which the parameters are essential such as the bulk modulus and shear modulus that represent soil property, they are generally calculated by the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio,while the soil compression modulus is usually offered in survey report,so howto distinguish and obtain the appropriate soil modulus and further improve the accuracy of the numerical simulation have become the problem that cannot be ignored. Firstly, the advantages and disadvantages of the commonly used methods are analysed here, and then three solutions to the problem are proposed.Then, an engineering example is introduced for validation.Through the comparison and analysis between the calculation results of three kinds of the methods mentioned above as well as the actual observation results, the rationality of the proposed methods is verified, and the suggestion for the obtained way is putforward according to the reasonable soil modulus value under different conditions.
