    Abstract:
    Over the past two decades, both developed and developing countries have been investing a significant portion of their resources in the creation of an information infrastructure. However, speculation abounds regarding the efficacy of information infrastructure investments, especially when the opportunity cost for investing in information technology (IT) is measurably high among developing nations. This longitudinal study introduces and explores infrastructure development and service-sector growth as key metrics for IT investment success. It also traces the notional evidence of IT infrastructure development as mediating the causal relationship between information infrastructure investments and service-sector growth. Using data from low-income, middle-income, and high-income countries, the mediating and lagged impact of information infrastructure on service-sector growth reveals that information infrastructure development does play a significant role as a mediator. It points out that information infrastructure investments can be a misleading causal antecedent if countries fail to develop their infrastructure. It also provides evidence of a recursive relationship between infrastructure development and service-sector growth. An exploratory time-series analysis across different country categories suggests that information infrastructures must be properly developed to reconcile the paradox. In addition, exploratory tests reveal a distinct divergence between infrastructure investments and infrastructure development among different country tiers.

    The article is devoted to the study of Ukraine the critical information infrastructure in order to increase the efficiency of use and protection of state information resources circulating in the information and telecommunication systems of critical infrastructure objects. The analysis of international experience and current domestic regulation of this field have revealed such basic problems as: the lack of basic terminology, the need to create a system for critical infrastructure protection and crisis management, the formation and development of a system of public-private partnership, the absence of sectors and elements in Ukraine critical infrastructure and of criteria attribution of objects to critical infrastructure, the lack of criteria for assessing the negative consequence of cyberattacks on the information telecommunicative system of the object of critical infrastructure, as well as the need for legislative changes. To resolve some of them, the authors introduce new concepts in this article, propose sectors of Ukraine the critical infrastructure with the definition of those relating to critical information infrastructure, unification of the negative consequence of cyberattacks on the infor-mation and telecommunication system of the critical infrastructure object in order to further evaluate the damage inflicted on the national security of Ukraine in the event of the leakage of state information resources.

    Technology can influence the nature of work performed by information systems and information technology professionals. This study aims to identify technologies and tasks performed by information systems and information technology professionals in a range of business organisations in Singapore. The study examines what technologies will become increasingly important in the business organizations as advances in information technology affect the work performed by information systems professionals. A list of information systems tasks and relationships between the tasks and technologies will be examined. The role of information systems and information technology professionals in relation to the tasks performed will also be discussed.

    According to the large number of cyber incidents that occur every day, the process of critical infrastructure protection is an important not only technical but also scientific task. However, not all states in the world have an opportunity to provide high-quality protection of such infrastructure at a high level. Based on the fact that the critical information infrastructure protection should be managed at the state level, states need to develop a regulatory framework to address the above issue. Considering the legal framework of Ukraine, as in most post-Soviet countries, there is no effective approach to the protection of critical information infrastructure, such as in the USA or in the EU. The legislation of Ukraine identifies only certain objects of the socio-economic sphere, emergencies where they can lead to socially dangerous consequences, while a single procedure for identification and classification of critical infrastructure is not developed. A number of basic terms in the field of critical infrastructure protection from cyber threats, including “critical infrastructure” term, remain normatively vague. The mechanism of organization of activity and interaction of state and private structures in the process of critical infrastructure protection needs scientific substantiation. In this paper, the analysis of the world’s best practices concerning critical information infrastructure protection was carried out, that allows to improve qualitatively, at the state legislative level and practice, process of critical information infrastructure protection of Ukraine.

    This paper describes how infrastructure is defined as the network of physical structures and information that support a continual flow of goods, information, and services. Infrastructure is essential to maintain quality of life, economic growth and national security. Possible disruptions to services supported by physical infrastructure can affect the functions of daily life, businesses and government activities. Such disruptions can also have cascading or escalating effects throughout a country’s economy and social infrastructure. This paper introduces the basic concepts of infrastructure interdependencies and critical infrastructure management compared with infrastructure management concepts applied to a single type of infrastructure, the need to capture the complex interactions between different types of infrastructure, and the recent advances in critical infrastructure management.

    This study was designed to find out the role of the Management Information System (MIS) in COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Islamabad, to define the concept and scope of management information system (MIS), to explore the role of Management Information System (MIS) in smoothening the academic and administrative activities of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and identify the bottlenecks of Management Information System (MIS) if any, and suggest measurers to overcome these problems. There were seven campuses of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Pakistan. Keeping in view the time and finance constrains the study was delimited to the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Islamabad only. 12 managers using management Information System and 20 percent out of 4000 students of COMSATS Information Technology were randomly drawn from each faculty as a sample for this study. Two separate questionnaires were designed for the managers using Management Information System (MIS) and students of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology
