Abstract:
Abstract Three hydrazone ligands, H 2 L1 – H 2 L3 , made from salicylaldehyde and ibuprofen‐ or naproxen‐derived hydrazides, were prepared and transformed into the corresponding copper(II) complexes [Cu II L1 ]⋅H 2 O, [Cu II L2 ], and [(Cu II ) 2 ( L3 ) 2 ]⋅H 2 O⋅DMF ( Scheme ). The X‐ray crystal structure of the last‐mentioned complex was solved ( Fig. 1 ), showing a square‐planar complexation geometry, and the single units were found to form a one‐dimensional chain structure ( Fig. 2 ). The interactions of these complexes with CT‐DNA were studied by different techniques, indicating that they all bind to DNA by classical and/or non‐classical intercalation modes.Keywords:

The complexation of hydrazide schiff base ligands such as N,N'-oxalylbis(salicylaldehyde hydrazone), N,N'-malonylbis(salicylaldehyde hydrazone), and N,N'-succinylbis(salicylaldehyde hydrazone) with Cd(II) ion was studied by polarographic method in DMSO solution. The order of stability constants was OBSH H and S of the complexation were distributed on the complex stabilities.

It turns out the cationic probe based on azo salicylaldehyde acyl hydrazone has a specific selective colorimetric recognition effect to Cu2 +in DMSO / H2O water system after test of cation recognition effect on 12 kinds of ions like Fe3 +,Hg2 +,Ag+,Ca2 +,Cu2 +,Co2 +,Ni2 +,Cd2 +,Pb2 +,Zn2 +,Cr3 +and Mg2 +through UV-Vis. The solution turns yellow when there is Cu2 +,while the color does not change when there is other ions,which proves the naked eye detection of Cu2 +with this probe.

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of copper using N,N'-Oxalylbis(salicylaldehyde hydrazone) as a chromogenic reagent has been developed. Determination has been performed by measuring the absorbances of the copper complexes in solutions containing 60% dimethylformamide (pH 2) at 422 nm. The method allows the determination of 0.41.8 g/ml of copper and has been applied to its determination in synthetic mixtures and alloy samples.

Objective:To synthesize the substituted salicylaldehyde arylsulfonyl-hydrazone compounds,and to study their scavenging capacity for hydroxyl free radical(·OH).Method:Three substituted salicylaldehyde arylsulfonyl-hydrazone compounds were systhesized from benzenesulfonylhydrazine and substituted salicylaldehyde,and depending on orthophenanthroline-Fe(Ⅱ)method,the scavenging capacity on ·OH was detected by spectrophotometry.Results:The target compounds could effectively scavenge ·OH,but the capacity was inferior to vitamine C.Conclusion:The synthesized substituted salicylaldehyde arylsulfonyl-hydrazone compounds can scavenge ·OH and the activity can be increased by introducing the halogen group to the benzene ring of salicylaldehyde.
