Abstract:
The Rorschach test was administered to three groups: Ss having taken LSD many times (30+), few times (1 to 5) and no times. The test protocols were scored for ego disturbance. The two LSD groups had significantly more indicators than the non-LSD group but were not significantly different from each other. Indicators in these two groups were concentrated in areas of relation to reality and defensive operations. Keywords:

The history of Turkish psychology, the cultural changes, and the rise of psychoanalysis have accompanied the development of Rorschach in Turkey. Yani Anastasiadis, the Turkish Rorschach pioneer, perceived Rorschach as “the radiography of human spirit.” So the history of the Rorschach begins in 1943, and it became widely utilized in hospitals and clinical settings. Although in the 1950s statistical evaluation ruled, Anastasiadis continued his research and presented several articles at conferences and published many written articles. Today other approaches such as Exner’s Comprehensive System and the currently used psychoanalytically oriented Rorschach, highly influenced by French schools, have emerged. The psychoanalytically oriented Rorschach system and the development of psychoanalysis in Turkey in general occurred at the same time, which is not a coincidence. The spread of psychoanalysis as well as the Rorschach test has been helped by a number of associations. The Society of Rorschach and Projective Tests was formed in 2003. Today, there are standardized Turkish norms of adults and adolescents, and several books have been published.

The Rorschach Inkblot Test has the dubious distinction of being simultaneously the most cherished and the most criticized of all psychological assessment tools. Till date on one hand it is held in great esteem by many for its ability to access intrapsychic material, whereas others consider it to be a prime example of unscientific psychological assessment. However, the Rorschach Inkblot Test is extensively used since it is found to be a tool to unearth the deep-rooted emotional conflicts. Despite limitations and various drawbacks Rorschach Inkblot Test is widely and rigorously used in different clinical settings and has considerable potential to contribute in the field of psychology in the future years. Hence, an attempt has been made to understand the current status of Rorschach Inkblot Test.

Abstract. This article summarizes the development and research status of the Rorschach Test in China as comprehensively as possible. The development of the Rorschach Test in China can be divided into two stages: the initial stage and the developing stage. At the initial stage the research mainly includes: introduction and localization of the Rorschach Test, studies on schizophrenia, and the measurement of intelligence and personality. In the developing stage the research mainly includes: spreading and localization of the Rorschach Test, the variables, indices, and derivative scales, clinical psychology, talent assessment, combination with eye movement techniques, the Group Rorschach Inkblot Test, and reviews. Based on the domestic development and research status of the Rorschach Test, the article also summarizes the achievements and issues present in existing studies and puts forward the prospect of researching the Rorschach Test in China.

The Rorschach inkblot test allows access to psychological processes that usually do not emerge in self-report measures and it has been widely used in clinical psychological and psychiatric settings. Recordings of brain activity during the administration of the Rorschach inkblots test could provide information on neural correlates of the underlying perceptual-cognitive processing and potentially identify neuroimaging markers of psychopathology risk. The present paper offers a systematization of the available literature on the Rorschach inkblot test and neuroimaging research. The 13 selected studies had been conducted with healthy participants and using fMRI, EEG, and fNIRS to investigate the neural underpinnings of Rorschach inkblot test responses. The neural processes underlying the visual, social, and emotional processes described by the included papers are systematically summarized. Research on the neural correlates of the Rorschach inkblot test is promising and would further benefit from studies on clinical populations, broader samples, and younger age groups.

60 university students were administered the Rorschach inkblot test and the Verbalizer-Visualizer Questionnaire (VVQ). No significant linear relationships were found between Rorschach scores involving human movement and color responses ( EB, M, Sum weighted C, and EA) and scores on the questionnaire. Also, no significant nonlinear relationship was found betwee Rorschach EB scores and scores on the questionnaire. Rorschach's hypothesis of a relationship between imagery types and Rorschach EB is brought into question.

Abstract Although the Rorschach has traditionally been referred to as a "personality test," it does not measure how much personality people have. Because it does not measure anything, the Rorschach is not a test; rather, it is a method of generating data that describe personality functioning. Rorschach data can be interpreted from many different theoretical perspectives, but theory is not necessary to explain the utility of the Rorschach Inkblot Method. Viewing the Rorschach as a method promotes full use of the available data, both perceptual and thematic, to paint a comprehensive picture of personality structure and dynamics.

A call is issued for a moratorium on the use of the Rorschach Inkblot Test in clinical and forensic (but not research) settings. The moratorium should last until we have determined which Rorschach scores are valid and which ones are invalid. Unfortunately, for most Rorschach scores, results from meta-analyses have been uninformative. Also, incremental validity has not been studied for most Rorschach scores. Furthermore, positive findings for Rorschach scores have rarely been independently replicated. Finally, selective reporting of results has been a problem: Some investigators report significant results but not nonsignificant results. The magnitude of this problem has not been determined. Unless a moratorium is adopted, clinicians will continue to interpret invalid scores along with valid scores.
