Abstract:
The Indian mobile telecom industry, one of the fastest growing sectors in India, had 584.3 million subscribers in 2010–2011 registering an annual growth rate of 49.15%. The energy consumed by the sector was 163 PJ and the corresponding CO2 emission was estimated at 32.9 million tons. In this paper, the mobile telecom industry is disaggregated into various segments, based on the lifecycle of the device, and each segment’s contribution to the overall energy consumption, and its respective CO2 emissions are discussed. In addition, the paper evaluates four scenarios that examine the impact of energy efficiency on energy savings and the corresponding CO2 emissions relative to the ‘business as usual’ scenario for 2010–2020. The results of the study provide an imperative to researchers working on next generation infrastructure and energy efficiency to develop new technologies that will reduce the energy consumption and the corresponding CO2 emissions of the growing Indian mobile telecom industry.Keywords:

In order to analyze the cement enterprise energy consumption, the e-p analysis model of comprehensive energy consumption is established in this paper. The factors which influence the energy consumption are divided into process energy consumption and conversion ratio. Combining with examples, how the two factors do on the energy consumption is analyzed. The research results provide certain theoretical basis for energy conservation work of the cement enterprise.

Abstract Household consumption accounts for 72% of the global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To obtain consumption-based emissions in accordance with the 1.5-degree target, the carbon footprint of individuals should be reduced to 2.5 t CO 2 e a −1 by 2030, which means at least a 70% reduction in high-emitting countries. The decrease in consumption-based GHG emissions can be achieved through both technological and behavioural changes. Currently, climate measures are largely dependent on technological efficiency, although behavioural changes are also needed. In this paper, we study how technological actions to decarbonise the energy and mobility sectors affect consumption-based carbon footprints in the years 2010–2030 in a suburb in Finland. Based on the results, emissions from the mobility sector decreased by 50%, and those from the energy sector decreased by 68% in 2010–2030, when only technology development and society-level actions are considered. These emission reductions affected the carbon footprint of an average Finnish suburb by decreasing it by 37%. This study demonstrates that technological actions to decarbonise the energy and mobility sectors do not guarantee adequate emission reduction by 2030 to achieve the 1.5-degree target; therefore, a change in lifestyle and consumption habits is also needed. Further research should take behavioural changes into account when assessing the development of a consumption-based carbon footprint.

With the rapid development of China's service industries,the research on energy consumption and carbon emissions contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction and sustainable development for service industry.Research progress on energy consumption and carbon emissions in services industry at overseas was reviewed in detail based on the databases of Elsevier Science Direct.Firstly,the research course of energy consumption and carbon emissions in services industry was summarized.Secondly,the research methods were analyzed comprehensively which include Input-output analysis method,Top-down Approach and Bottom-up Approach,Life cycle assessment method,field investigation,Scenario analysis,etc.Thirdly,the major research contexts were reviewed from five aspects,which included measuring energy consumption and carbon emissions,the efficiency and intensity on energy consumption and carbon emissions,the influencing factors on energy consumption and carbon emissions,scenario analysis on energy consumption and carbon emissions,and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving energy in services industry.Finally,the research perspectives on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving energy in services industry were put forward for China.

Abstract Global warming is one of the most serious environmental, social and economic threats currently facing the planet, so many companies and organizations have generated a strategic approach to combat it. One of the most efficient strategies is the reduction of energy consumption, which not only positively affects the reduction of fuel consumption, but also shows improvements in both financial and technological efficiency. This project allowed to create an analysis methodology applicable in the oil and gas industry, in whose process of analysis, important alternatives for optimization of energy consumption are detected, which contribute to the Greenhouse Gas Emission balance (GHG), a fundamental theme of Sustainability Worldwide. This methodology was applied in the field of higher production of hydrocarbons currently in Colombia, whose energy consumption is significant at the national level. The methodology included activities to measure energy consumption per well, coupled with a rigorous financial analysis that allowed the evaluation and selection of candidate wells for different optimization actions. As a result, technically applicable actions were obtained for the reduction of energy consumption, which were classified under an analysis of expected net present value and investment efficiency.

Final energy consumption is the total energy consumed by end users. The data on energy consumption structure can be represented by the ratio of electricity consumption to final total energy consumption, and usually be used to forecast the PM2.5 concentrations or energy efficiency in one province. Traditional energy consumption structure indictor solving methods include coal-equivalent consumption and thermal-equivalent calculation methods. They cannot be used to find the impact factors on the provincial energy consumption structure since they lack of internal factors in connection with the economic. The energy consumption structure of one industry sector is usually different from that of another sector. The energy consumption structure of one sector is determined by the producing characteristic and equipment level in the industry. In this paper, provincial final energy consumption structure is detailed analyzed according to the energy consumption data of selected industry sectors. And the provincial energy consumption structure indicator would be explained by the industrial structure in the province and specific energy consumption characteristics in the selected industry sectors. The analyzed result can be used to study the energy policy about PM2.5 concentrations or energy efficiency in most provinces in China.

Consumer behaviour is one of the most important issues with respect to energy consumption rather than technical measurement. It is a parameter to measure the energy demand within the environment. Within the scope, researchers mainly focus on the household environment with little attention given to higher education institutions (HEIs). The main problems in HEIs are their student who s the main contributor of waste. It s also found that unclear target from the management of reducing energy waste and practice for the students is the main reasons on why energy saving behaviour difficult to establish in universities. Hence, knowledge of energy consumption behaviour among the students requires to be assessed. This research proposes to analyse energy consumption behaviour patterns through students energy demand; and develop a model that could estimate the potential saving and future energy demands in HEIs. Combination of qualitative, quantitative and experimentation method were proposes as suitable approach on assessing the energy consumption behaviour in HEIs environment. This research proposal expected to contribute to the analysis, methodology and design a model of energy behaviour consumption pattern in Malaysian HEIs. This will help in understanding of people's behaviour and react against energy use, and as an energy demand benchmark to the HEIs.

Facing the new requirements of energy development and transformation, adjusting the energy consumption structure and controlling the total energy consumption has become the focus of our country's current urban energy management. Aiming at six key industries in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China, this paper selects five factors that affect the structure of energy consumption from two dimensions of economy and technology, and uses time series data and grey relational analysis method to evaluate the correlation between the five factors and the energy consumption structure of each industry. On this basis, the importance of factors affecting the structure of energy consumption and its industrial characteristics are deeply analyzed. In addition, according to the historical data characteristics of energy consumption in the six key energy-consuming industries in Ningbo, from 2010 to 2020, the trend extrapolation method is used to directly predict the proportion of electric energy consumption in the future years, and the estimation formula of comprehensive energy consumption and comprehensive carbon consumption of the industry is given.

With the development of China economy, energy consumption increases rapidly, which results in a series of social problems. In these problems, environmental issues are still prominent. The enormous energy consumption deteriorates the environmental quality, and hinders the economy growth. In this paper, Grey relational analysis of 'grey theory' is adopted in the study of the relationship between China's energy consumption and environmental quality to examine their inherent relevance. A quantitative analysis of the latest 8 years' data is performed, and various effects on the environment quality are ascertained through different energy types. Scientific reference is offered for readjusting energy consumption structure, reducing environmental stress and improving quality of the environment.

In recent years, due to the more and more energy consumption of large public buildings, people increasingly focused on building energy saving. On account of huge energy consumption of large public buildings, we should take effective measure of energy saving management to reduce energy consumption and save resources. Based on investigating the situation of energy consumption of 20 typical large public buildings, this article analyzes and researches the issues of energy consumption of large public buildings and puts out the control measures and solving measures of huge energy consumption of large public buildings from two aspects of technical and management level by analyzing the reason causing high energy consumption. This article has guiding significance for energy saving management of large public buildings.
