Reuse of building material is an integral part of making the product circular. However, there is lack of working frameworks and practical tools which can quantify the feasibility of reuse over other choices such as virgin material use or recycling for that matter. Therefore, this research focuses on the development of such a working framework which can guide and assess the feasibility of reuse in new building construction. The tool is so developed that it guides from the very basic step of material selection to its assessment to the quantification of economic as well as environmental benefits of reuse. A case study is used to verify the application of the model. The results show how reuse is possible in the case of open loop recycling and not in the case of close loop recycling indication recycling to be a preferred option in the latter case. Barriers such as lack of information of the product life cycle (use) is found to limit the reuse possibilities. Lastly the intangible aspects of reuse such as aesthetic and emotional value addition are also discussed, and its impact is visible in the case study.

Based on analysis on the necessity and feasibility of water reuse in campus of Liaoning Technical University, plans for water reuse and position of water station in campus are selected; in the meantime processes for water reuse system are studied and optimum suitable one is given by comparison and analyses and finally detailed analyses are conducted on the economic, environmental and social benefits of water reuse.

The author describes a program of reuse that began in January 1984 with a new product and has evolved to include three other existing products and all new enhancements to these products over the last eight years. The topics covered include: how the program was initiated and how the definition of reuse has changed over time; how the program evolved to include other products; development of the fix process for reuse components; coordination issues between products and the formation of the Shared Components Council; results of reuse metrics; what lessons were learned; and suggested areas for improvement. The emphasis is on what was learned along the way and how the reuse program has evolved to include other products.< >
Water reuse of hotels is one part of the recycling of urban wastewater, but it has not been popularized. The influence of water reuse on human's health is discussed according to the characteristics of wastewater in hotels.Combined with the engineering cases, analyses are conducted on the environmental and economic benefits of hotel water reuse and so the feasibility of popularizing water reuse of hotels is discussed.

Taking waste computer as an example,a method of waste electrical and electronic equipment(WEEE)recycle and reuse developed by the laboratory was studied.Four key units including cathode ray tube(CRT)recycle, circuit board disassembly, print circuit board(PCB)recycle and parts reusability test were analyzed carefully. The largest parts reuse and materials recycling rate by environmental friendly materials recycle and PCB undamaged auto-disassembly process were realized, with the largest recycle gains.
