Abstract:
Salmonella, but not Escherichia coli, was attracted to citrate, a distinction that is understandable in view of the inability of E. coli to transport tricarboxylic acids. The Salmonella response to citrate and to two previously described attractants, aspartate and malate, was mutually noncompetitive. Citrate taxis different from citrate uptake in that it did not require Na+, was constitutive, and was not repressible by glucose.Keywords:

Is there a link between the color of a taxi and how many accidents it has? An analysis of 36 mo of detailed taxi, driver, and accident data (comprising millions of data points) from the largest taxi company in Singapore suggests that there is an explicit link. Yellow taxis had 6.1 fewer accidents per 1,000 taxis per month than blue taxis, a 9% reduction in accident probability. We rule out driver difference as an explanatory variable and empirically show that because yellow taxis are more noticeable than blue taxis-especially when in front of another vehicle, and in street lighting-other drivers can better avoid hitting them, directly reducing the accident rate. This finding can play a significant role when choosing colors for public transportation and may save lives as well as millions of dollars.

Unclogging of Bottleneck for Development of Taxis Industry of Metropolises:A Case Study of Guangzhou
In this paper,we analyzed systematically the problems in the taxis industry on the aspects of taxis enterprises,taxis drivers,taxis pricing and taxis attributes and then on the basis of the data collected from a survey of Guangzhou,concluded that the reasons for the problems were inadequate understanding of the basic attributes of the taxis industry,inaccurate positioning of the taxis service and logical confusion concerning the development of the industry,on the basis of which we held that only through accelerating the construction of the public transit system,reasonably guiding the demand for urban transportation,innovating the administration system fo the taxis industry and improving the professional threshold of the taxis drivers could these problems be solved.

This thesis deals with the challenge of dispatching taxis to passenger booking requests. The main contribution is the methodology which assigns and re-assigns groups of taxis to groups of passenger booking requests and reflects the interest of not just taxis but also passengers, and which produces stable assignments. The proposed methodology is designed for a centralized system that assigns and re-assigns the bookings simultaneously in real-time and evaluated in a simulation model.

A 2.3 kilobase (kb) Salmonella probe, JEO402-1, and two subfragments, F1214 (1.3 kb) and F1217 (0.8 kb), have been evaluated by colony hybridization using pure cultures of Salmonella serovars and non-salmonella bacteria. JEO402-1, and its subfragments, F1214 and F1217, hybridized to all of 156 different Salmonella serovars tested, while there was no reaction to 112 non-salmonella strains belonging to 19 genera and 37 species of Enterobacteriaceae. Together with previously published results, the JEO402-1 probe has now been shown to detect a total of 396 Salmonella strains belonging to 214 serovars of Salmonella subspecies I-VI. A total of 178 non-salmonella strains representing 23 genera and 51 species of Enterobacteriaceae have all tested negative with JEO402-1. The hybridization results obtained using a digoxigenin-labeled probe were similar to those obtained with 35S isotopic labeling when complete colony lysis was ensured.

Public transportation has become an alternative for people in their daily activities. As technology develops, online public transportation or application-based online taxis emerges. The purpose of this paper is to find out the performance between conventional taxis and online taxis. The authors used the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method in this study. Before being able to use the IPA method, the author will first collect data by opening a questionnaire with a minimum of 100 respondents for analysis. The study's findings indicate that online taxis perform better than conventional taxis. However, in the importance perception, conventional taxis also get a lower average value than online taxis.

The management mode, organization characteristic and operation manner of the urban taxis are analyzed in detail. Taxis are navigated and located by means of modern advanced technology, such as data communication, navigation and location, computer, artificial intelligence etc., so that operating supervision for urban taxis and timely route guidance can be effectively implemented. In this way, the coordination among the roads, vehicles and drivers for the taxis and supervisors can be enhanced, and the location of the taxis can be monitored. Hence the operation efficiency and safety of vehicular transportation for taxis can be improved, and road traffic congestion can be avoided or reduced.
