Abstract:
The $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ magnetic form factor has been measured for momentum transfers between 0.7 and 11 ${\mathrm{fm}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$ with improved precision over previous measurements. The charge form factor has been measured for momentum transfers less than 1 ${\mathrm{fm}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$. The charge radius was determined to be 1.935\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03 fm, and the magnetic radius 1.935\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04 fm. Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate the coupled oscillations of multiple bubbles within a cluster. The interaction between a bubble and the other bubbles in a cluster produces an additional mass. For a fixed number of bubbles and uniformly distributed ( N ---gt------gt--- 1), in case of a certain value of the bubbles number density, we deduce the relations analogous to the Eddington relation (between the cluster radius and the bubble radius) and the Sciama relation (between the cluster radius and the gravitoacoustic radius) according to Mach’s Principle.

There is a recently renewed interest on the study of single and double charge exchange reactions with heavy ions. We report here a preliminary theoretical study of double charge exchange reactions in terms of two successive charge exchanges in 2nd order Distorted Wave Born approximation. This allows us to include the effect of the different transfer channels in an approximate way. Evidences show that the charge exchange process is dominant. The following one in importance is the combination of one single charge exchange, one neutron pick-up and one proton stripping. This particular process calls for further investigation.

A method for calculating charge exchange cross sections is generalized to provide a description of p+H2 charge transfer processes. The assumptions and the conditions for the validity of the method are discussed. The results are compared with experiments on total charge transfer, capture into the 2S state of hydrogen and H2 are considered. Comparison with experiments and the predictions of Tuan and Gerjuoy is carried out.

Abstract We present a theoretical study of charge transfer in H + +C 60 and He 2+ +C 60 collisions using an extension of the molecular time‐dependent method of ion–atom collisions. Energy‐correlation diagrams have been evaluated for the corresponding (C 60 –H) + and (C 60 –He) 2+ quasi‐molecules. Single and double charge‐transfer cross sections in C 60 +He 2+ collisions are reported for the first time. The results show that double charge‐transfer cross sections are only one order of magnitude smaller than single charge‐transfer cross sections. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2001

Investigation of the effect of inlet radius on the response time of a transmission type ozone sensor
The effect of inlet radius of a transmission type optical gas cell on its response time is reported. Six gas cells of varying lengths, and internal radius of 0.32cm were considered at first and then other internal diameters were also investigated afterwards. The effect of inlet radius is easily discernible at all velocities considered; however it is more pronounced at lower flow rates. At a velocity of 16.79cm/s of ozone gas, and for a target sensing time of ≤ 0.5 seconds; we observed that the inlet radius requirements for gas cells of varying lengths and varying internal diameters is not the same for a specific target sensing speed. The length and the internal radius of a gas cell are proportional to its inlet radius.

We analyze the dependence of the membership probabilities obtained from kinematical variables on the radius of the field of view around open clusters (the sampling radius, Rs). From simulated data, we show that the best discrimination between cluster members and non-members is obtained when the sampling radius is very close to the cluster radius. At higher Rs values more field stars tend to be erroneously assigned as cluster members. From real data of two open clusters (NGC 2323 and NGC 2311) we obtain that the number of identified cluster members always increases with increasing Rs. However, there is a threshold Rs value above which the identified cluster members are severely contaminated by field stars and the effectiveness of membership determination is relatively small. This optimal sampling radius is \sim 14 arcmin for NGC 2323 and \sim 13 arcmin for NGC 2311. We discuss the reasons for such behavior and the relationship between cluster radius and optimal sampling radius. We suggest that, independently of the method used to estimate membership probabilities, several tests using different sampling radius should be performed in order to evaluate the existence of possible biases.
