The Myxosporean met in freshwater fishes of Burkina Faso, form all of them some whitish cysts on the fins for Myxobolus labeoi sp. n. and Myxobolus tingrelaensis sp. n. and on the branchial for Myxobolus heterotisi sp. n. and Myxobolus sourouensis sp. n. The spores of M. heterotisi sp. n. are ootid, they measure 2.13A‚±0.46 out of 9.51A‚± 0.45 AŽÂ¼m and have their anterior extremity slightly contracted. Their pyriform polar capsule measure 6.41A‚±0.41 out of 3.53A‚±0.51 AŽÂ¼m. The polar filament is rolled in 10 turns of spires. M. labeoi n. sp. Presents some lengthened spores of 16.43A‚±0.50 out of 10.73A‚±0.52 AŽÂ¼m. The dissymetrical polar capsules measure 8.37A‚±0.56 out of 6.53A‚±0.68 AŽÂ¼m and 1.57A‚±0.17 out of 0.35A‚±0.09 AŽÂ¼m. On M. sourouensis sp. n., the spores measure 11.33A‚±0.33 out of 8.84A‚±0.72 AŽÂ¼m. The polar capsules are ootid measuring 5.77A‚±0.73 out of 2.32A‚±0.46 AŽÂ¼m. M. tingrelaensis sp. n. form some ootid spores of 11.6A‚±0.62 out of 9.37A‚±0.67 AŽÂ¼m. The pyriform polar capsules are 4.80A‚±0.55 out of 2.40A‚±0.38 AŽÂ¼m and have a small inter-capsular appendix.

Myxidiurn rhodei infection of the kidney of chub Leuciscus cephalus cabeda and boga Chondrostoma polylepis from the Esla River, Spain is described.Prevalence was low.3.8 % in chub and 1 " 0 in boga, and intensity relatively high.Affected kidneys exhibited varying degrees of histopathological damage.Spores and plasmodia of the parasite were found mainly in the interstitia, but also in the glomeruli, frequently encapsulated in granulomas with an intense fibrotic reaction.A granulomatous inflammatory reaction with leucocytic infiltration was evident around cysts, affected glomeruli or plasmodia. As a result, much of the kidney tissue became seriously damaged.

The examination of gills from 240 fish from Paraná river, Brazil, showed the presence of small cysts in five fish species. Observation of the cysts showed they are plasmodia of Henneguya spp. (Myxozoa, Myxosporea, Myxobolidae). The morphometric and morphologic characteristics of the parasites are described.
