O CORPO E SUAS HERANÇAS: UMA LEITURA DE "O AFRICANO"

The goal of this article is to analyze "The African", by J. M. G. Le Clezio, taking support in the author's reflexion about the body. Considering that the nigerian author showcases this theme in his book, we are to examine the fall of the dichotomy between nature and culture, which is one of the most rooted dichotomies in social theories studied in the western, and also the way how the body is evaluated is a dynamic in his book, in the way that is involved in the reports he builds in the game of the writing of self, becoming describable as he learns to be affected by other cultural elements. We will also analyze photographs presented in his book in tandem with the multiplicity of senses transmited by those images, with their function in chap- ters as well, always considering the space between fic - tion and biography.
