Method and apparatus for updating medical devices

The method and device are used for updating of medical devices which have a store for an operating program. The memory is at least partially designed as a variable memory and connected to a receiving apparatus for a current operating program. The memory and the input means are connected to control means including testing means for evaluating at least one code. It is activated at least one function of the device only when the code agrees with a reference value.
