PRELIMINARY STUDY ON MONTHLY CHANGES IN CALORIC VALUE OF Kandelia candel LEAVES IN JIULONGJIANG RIVER ESTUARY, FUJIAN

1989
The measurement of caloric values is one of the most important ways in ecology research, which has seldom been carried out in our country. The mangrove serves as a primary producer in the aquatic food chain of the tropical estuary, and its leaves not only function as energy assimilation, but also take up the majority of litter. Therefore, to study the variations in energy content of the leaves of mangrove plants would be valuable for the researches of physiological ecology and the ecosystem.
