Synthesis and Antifungal Activity of Some 3-Benzylidenechroman-4-ones, 3-Benzylidenethiochroman-4-ones and 2-Benzylidene-1-tetralones.

Abstract A series of 3-benzylidenechroman-4-ones, 3-benzylidenethiochroman-4-ones and 2-benzylidene-1-tetralones have been synthesised and tested for their in vitro antifungal activity. Some of them were inactive; others displayed good activity against Cryptococcus neoformans, Torulopsis glabrata and Trichosporon cutaneum.
