Dielectric and photoconductivity properties of semiorganic nonlinear optical LMHCl crystals

2013
The potential semiorganic nonlinear optical single crystal of L-Lysine monohydrochloride dihydrate (LMHCl) has been grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group of P21. The dielectric behavior of the crystal is determined at room temperature in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 5 MHz. The dielectric studies prove the low values of dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the sample at high frequency. The negative photoconducting nature of the sample is confirmed by photoconductivity study. The nonlinear optical property of the crystal is tested by Nd:YAG laser source. The ac/dc conductivity studies are carried out and the activation energies are determined.
