LA COMERCIALIZACIÓ N DE ARTESANÍAS DE TAGUA Y SU INCIDENCIA EN LOS INGRESOS DE LAS FAMILIAS DE LA COMUNA SOSOTE DEL CANTÓN ROCAFUERTE

In the presenta work we investigated the commercialization of tagua handicrafts and their incidence in the income of the families of the Sosote commune of the Rocafuerte canton. For the development of this research, a situational diagnosis was made through the field work carried out in establishments that were objects of study. Subsequently, a survey was conducted of the main represe ntatives of the commune, with the purpose of gathering information on the development of this activity in the place. At the same time, in order to get closer to reality, a population sample of 60 establishments was taken, of which 40 belong to the Tropitag ua Association, a total of businesses dedicated to the elaboration of handicrafts based on this material. The microenterprise activities of Sosote usually respond to entrepreneurship initiatives, based on tradition and family experience. The rusticity of t he operations is marked by the lack of technical knowledge and the implementation of strategic tools that allow them to promote organizational development. International commercialization is one of the most prosperous roads for the tagua business, since it is a very desired product among the clients. However, it is necessary to support these microenterprises, offering them mechanisms that allow them to market their products directly in international markets.
