Optimization of mechanical properties on GMAW process framework using AA6061-T6

Abstract In this paper carries out a research in the variation of mechanical properties depends on tensile strength in the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. Framework Factors like arc voltage, welding speed and current in which the experimental analysis were conducted. Also for finding the properties, the tensile and hardness test is conducted on the specimen. These data were used to finding the framework in the GMAW process. The stage of welding framework used to be decided by the methods described by Taguchi. The percentage influence of the welding characteristics on the tensile strength is found using ANOVA method. The optimum welding framework combinations were obtained by using the analysis of signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio.
