The invention discloses an identity recognition system based on white-light communication, and particularly relates to an identity recognition system and an identity recognition method both based on an LED miner's lamp in a mine. The identity recognition system comprises a lithium battery, an emission encoder, a driver, an LED lamp holder, a blue light filter, a photoelectric detector, an amplification filter, a decoder and a communication interface. Hardware equipment of the system includes an LED miner's lamp tag and a white-light card reader. The carry-on LED miner's lamp is utilized, a controller controls the LED lamp holder to transmit identity information according to certain codes by means of a Manchester pulse coding mode, and thus, automatic identity recognition of a miner can be realized. The system has the advantages that additional active or passive identity recognition cards are not needed, identity recognition is realized by existing LED miner's lamps, and the system is easy to upgrade and free from electromagnetic radiation, does not occupy existing communication channels, does not need an additional power source, is not easy to lose, long in service, convenient to carry, low in error rate, high in communication speed and low in power consumption and the like.
