57Fe and 119Sn Mössbauer studies of hyperfine structure in Fe3−xTixSn (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) alloys
2007
Abstract The effect of atomic disorder on the electronic structure and hyperfine parameters in Fe 3− x Ti x Sn alloys ( x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1) is studied. We report 57 Fe and 119 Sn distributions of hyperfine parameters determined from Mossbauer spectra and compare the results with those obtained from the ab initio calculations. For off-stoichiometric alloys the calculated values of isomer shift and hyperfine field are linearly correlated both for 57 Fe and 119 Sn nucleus. The Mossbauer studies reveal that annealed and quenched Fe 2 TiSn alloy exhibits some degree of atomic disorder.
