Intelligent Japanese learning system focusing on Chinese students' weak points of Katakana Word listening

2010
With the deepening of internationalization, Japanese language receives increasing attention in China; therewith more and more students take Japanese as their second language. It has been proved that native language has a great influence on second language learning, and it is the case for Chinese students in Japanese learning. Studies have shown that with the influence of mother tongue, Chinese students are especially weak in distinguishing some sounds of Japanese Katakana Words such as long sounds, voiced sounds and contracted sounds. We hence develop an intelligent learning system to make up for the deficiency. The system can record Japanese learners' listening errors in detail, and based on these errors, generating listening drills automatically for learners to practice. Again and again, learners gradually improve their listening ability. This paper focuses on the structure, working principles and functions of the intelligent learning system
