Anterior Decompression,Grafting and Internal Fixation in the Treatment of Severe Thoraco-lumbar Spinal Burst Fracture

2006
【Objective】To investigate the applied value of anterior decompression, grafting and internal fixation with Z-plate instrument in the treatment of severe thoraco-lumbar spinal burst fracture.【Methods】Curative effect and the state of follow-up of 36 patients with severe thoracic and lumbar spinal burst fracture who were performed with anterior decompression, autograft and internal fixation with Z-plate instrument were retrospectively analyzed.【Results】In all patients, severe complications had not appeared in or after operation.Thirty three of 36 cases were followed up 3~29 months(average of 7.6 months). The recovery of neural function of all patients was very good and the kyphosis had obviously not lost.【Conclusion】Anterior decompression, grafting and internal fixation with Z-plate instrument have effective decompression, nicer diaplasis and favorable stabilization in the treatment of the patients with severe thoraco-lumber spinal burst fracture.
