INFLUENCIA DEL HÁBITO DE FUMAR EN LA APARICIÓN DE MODIFICACIONES HISTOLÓGICAS DEL EPITELIO RESPIRATORIO

Ante la exposicion al tabaco o a otros irritantes, las vias aereas experimentan importantes cambios en su estructura histologica. Con el objetivo de describir la influencia del habito de fumar en la aparicion de modificaciones histologicas del epitelio respiratorio, se revisaron un total de 29 articulos cientificos. Se concluyo que el habito de fumar determina estas trasformaciones, las cuales se hacen progresivas y severas en la medida que aumenta el consumo. Los principales cambios histologicos a nivel del epitelio respiratorio, consecuencia de su exposicion al humo del tabaco, son: atrofia celular, hiperplasia, metaplasia y displasia, asi como alteraciones de la olfacion, diferentes tipos de rinitis y enfermedades neoplasicas. With the objective of describing the influence of the smoking habit in the appearance of histologycal modifications of the breathing epithelium,29 scientific articles were revised. You concluded that the smoking habit determines these transformations, which become progressive and severe in the measure that the consumption increases. The main histologycal changes at level of the breathing epithelium, consequence of it exposition to the tobacco´s fume, are: cellular atrophies, hyperplasia, metaplasia and dysplasia, as well as alterations of the olfation, different rhinitis types and tumour illnesses.
