Production and characterization of a PbMoO$_4$ cryogenic detector from archeological Pb

In this work we operated a massive PbMoO$_4$ scintillating cryogenic detector of 570 g, produced with archeological Pb. This compound features excellent characteristics in terms of light yield and energy resolution at cryogenic temperatures. The implementation of innovative techniques and procedures for the purification of raw materials used for the crystal growth, and the highly-pure archeological Pb, allowed the production of a massive high quality crystal. We present a full characterization of a PbMoO$_4$ scintillating crystal at milliKelvin temperatures as cryogenic particle detector.
