Simultaneous estimation of domperidone and omeprazole in pharmaceutical dosage by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography

A Simple, fast and precise reverse phase high performance liquid chromatograpahic method developed for the simultaneous determination of Domperidone and Omeprazole in its capsule form. A YMC-Pack C-18 ODS-A, 10 μm, 120A column 250 mm x 4.6 mm i.d in isocratic mode, with mobile phase 50 mM KH 2 PO 4 , acetonitrile (62:38 v/v) pH adjusted to 4.5′0.1 with 5% o-phosphoric acid were used. The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min and effluent was monitered at 220 nm. The retention time of Domperidone and Omeprazole were 4.44 min & 7.41 min respectively. Linearity for Domperidone and Omeprazole were in the range of 0.020-0.060 mg/ml and 0.020-0.060 mg/ml respectively. Amount found of Domperidone and Omeprazole were 10.04 mg/cap and 9.95 mg/cap respectively. Percentage recoveries obtained for both the drugs were 100.03% and 99.71% for Domperidone and Omeprazole respectively. The proposed method is accurate, precise, selective and rapid for the simultaneous estimation of Domperidone and Omeprazole.
