Detecting a touch on the display device of the display unit

The present invention provides a control method for a display apparatus and a display device. As the display MFP (Multifunction Peripheral) devices when detecting a touch on a touch panel, according to the position of the touch on the touch panel to set the wait time. In the MFP detects that the touch on the touch panel before the waiting time elapses since the touch is detected again, the detected two points is determined as a multi-touch touch.
