Relationship analysis between hemocysteine, inflammation factor and carotid plaques in 80 hyper-tensive patients

2014
Objective To investigate the relationship between homocysteine(HCY)together with high sensitive c-reactive protein(hs-CRP)levels and carotid plaques in hypertensive patients. Methods Eighty hypertensive patients hospitalized in our hospital’s heart general medicine from August 2012 to Au-gust 2013 were taken as the study group. Another 80 health people in our hospital’s physical examination center at the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of HCY and hs-CRP were com-pared,at the same time the rectionship in hypertensive patients beween HCY,hs-CRP and light, medium and severe stenosis of carotid was detected. Results The levels of HCY and hs-CRP in study group were different from those in control group(P ﹤0. 01). In the hypertensive patients, the extent of carotid plaques stenosis had positive correlation with HCY and hs-CRP levels(P ﹤0. 01). Conclusions The levels of HCY and hs-CRP should be detected in hypertensive patients to screen the high risk patients. These patients can be prevented and treated early. This way can reduce the incidence of cerebral infarction effectively. Key words: Hypertension; Homocysteine; Hypersensitive c-reactive protein; Carotid planques
