Strategies for Selection of Test Compounds in Structure-Affinity Modelling of Active Carbon Adsorption Performance: A Multivariate Approach

2000
Active carbon is the most universal adsorbent for organic vapours. A study with the following aims was initiated to aid in the design of optimum performance carbon filters: To identify important physical and chemical properties influencing the adsorption, and thus gain a better understanding of the adsorption process. To investigate the possibilities of developing predictive tools for filter performance under dry and humid conditions based on the physico-chemical properties of the adsorbate.
