Heel width measurement device and method suitable for ultrasonic osteoporosis tester

2012
The invention discloses a heel width measurement device and method suitable for an ultrasonic osteoporosis tester, wherein the measurement device comprises a clamp-type distance measurement device and two movable ultrasonic probes. According to the invention, a device with mutually-matched distance measurement clamp and spring is used, the movable ultrasonic probes are fixed at the tail end of the distance measurement clamp, and the angles of the ultrasonic probes are adjusted by adjusting an angle adjustment knob at the tail end of the distance measurement clamp. The probes can be used for tightly clamping the heels of a measured person via the action of the spring; simultaneously, the width of heel bones is indirectly calculated via the jaw expanding angle of the distance measurement clamp, thus reducing the size of the mechanism on the premise of no loss of accuracy, improving the safety, and decreasing the cost, so that the measurement device and the measurement method have important practicable value.
