Research progress of the relationship between cancer stem cell and cancer metastasis

According to the cancer stem cell(CSC) hypothesis,CSCs are closely related to the production,growth,transfer and recurrence of tumor.CSCs also have obvious heterogeneity i.e CSC can be divided into several subgroups of cells with different profiles of hyperplasia,drug resistance,invasion and metastasis.Among these subgroups,the subgroups of cells with the biological characteristics of metastasis are named migrating cancer stem cells(MCSCs).In addition,different impact factors,including the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),chemotactic factor and niche of the target organ,may play critical roles in CSC metastasis.The treatment for targeted MCSC and their related mechanisms should be effective in halting the metastasis of cancer.
