Dual-polarization ultra-thin tunable AMC surface for P/L bands applications

A dual-polarization ultra-thin tunable AMC (TAMC) surface working in P/L bands is presented. The tunability is achieved by parallelly inserting varactor diodes between patch and ground plane. The working characteristic of the TAMC is theoretically analyzed by establishing equivalent circuit model. Simulated results show that the proposed TAMC has ultra-thin profile (0.0035λ) and achieves wide tunable bandwidth from 0.35 GHz to more than 2 GHz.
