ALLOCATION ALGORITHM FOR MIXED OPERATION MODES

The algorithm described is the core of an operational control system for public local transportation with mixed operation modes in which the transport requests of the passengers are made known to the system and the transport vehicles are demand-oriented allocated accordingly. We intend to give a heuristic solution for the multivehicle, flexible operation mode dial-a-ride problem with transfers. The main goals to be achieved are increased productivity and improved service for the passenger. For the optimization traffic, operational and service quality considerations are taken into account. The allocation in the free demand mode takes place with an algorithm which investigates all insertion possibilities in the vehicle routes taking constraints into consideration.
