ESTUDO MICROBIOLÓGICO DE CONTEÚDO INTRA-UTERINO DE CADELAS COM PIOMETRA E PESQUISA DE FATORES DE VIRULÊNCIA EM CEPAS DE ESCHERICHIA COLI*

2004
MICROBIOLOGICAL STUDY OF INTRAUTERINE SECRETION FROM BITCHES WITH PYOMETRA AND RESEARCH OF VIRULENCE FACTORS OF ESCHERICHIA COLI ISOLATES. Canine pyometra is an adult dog illness characterized by the inflammation of the uterus with accumulation of secretion. It occurs due to hormone alterations and is usually associated with bacterial infections. It is one of the most common pathological conditions of the canine genital tract. This study reports the various bacteria isolated from intrauterine secretion in 41 bitches with pyometra and the results of the virulence factor research of the Escherichia coli isolates.
