A Novel Method for Processing Photonic Crystals: Femtosecond Laser

PET detector is composed of scintillation crystal and optical sensor. The optical sensor receives the photons passing through the scintillation crystal. In order to improve the light output of the photonic crystal, we adopt the method of processing microstructure on the crystal surface to improve the transmittance of the photonic crystal. With the wide application of femtosecond laser in micro / nano machining, we studied the possibility of fabricating microstructure and improving the optical output of photonic crystal by femtosecond laser.
