Correlation between binding activity, inhibition of lymphoblastic transformation and metabolism of tixocortol 21 pivalate in mouse thymocytes.

1987
- TP and T, though binding to Dex receptors display weak inhibitory activities on mitogen-induced proliferation in mouse thymic cells. - Systemic metabolism of TP yields compounds completely inactive on both inhibition of Dex binding and of3H-Thymidine incorporation - A shorter half-life for TP than for cortisol, in presence of thymus cells, might explain its lower than expected activity in the con A-induced proliferation test, which requires a long period of incubation.
