The invention discloses a method and a device for text operation. The method comprises the steps of when receiving a voice command, according to source position information and first operation information which are commanded by the voice command, selecting text corresponding to the source position information in a currently operating first application, conducting corresponding operation of the first operation information for the text, and according to objective position information and second operation information which are commanded by the voice command, calling a second application to conduct operation corresponding to the second operation information for the text at the position, corresponding to the objective position information, of the second application. Further and correspondingly disclosed is the device for the text operation. According to the method and the device for the text operation, operations to the text can be conducted in other application programs without the requirement for exiting a current using program, and the operations are simple, convenient to achieve and good in user experience.
