Clopidogrel en el tratamiento de trastornos trombóticos

RESUMEN. El clopidogrel es un nuevo antiagregante plaquetario utilizado en la prevencion de complicaciones tromboticas y en la reduccion de eventos isquemicos Este farmaco actua inhibiendo selectivamente la union de adenosina difosfato (ADP) a sus receptores plaquetarios y la subsiguiente activacion del complejo glicoproteico (Gp.) IIb/IIIa, produciendose asi la inhibicion de la agregacion plaquetaria. El clopidogrel tambien es capaz de inhibir la agregacion plaquetaria producida por otros antagonistas. Estudios comparativos con drogas de igual actividad farmacologica demostraron que el clopidogrel tiene una eficacia similar a la ticlopidina y es mas eficaz que la aspirina. Asimismo, el clopidogrel es la droga con mejor tolerabilidad y menor incidencia de efectos adversos y por lo tanto puede ser utilizada como una alternativa con muy buen perfil de seguridad. SUMMARY.“ Clopidogrel in the treatment of thrombotic events ” . Clopidrogel is a new antiplatelet agent that is used to prevent thrombotic complications and decrease the ischaemic events. This drug selectively inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its platelet receptors and the subsequent activation of the glycoprotein (Gp.) IIb/IIIa complex, producing the inhibition of the platelet aggregation. Comparative studies among drugs with the same pharmacological activity showed that clopidrogel has a similar efficacy to ticlopidine and is more effective than aspirine. Moreover, clopidrogel is the best tolerated drug and it has a lower incidence of adverse effects, and then it can be used as an alternative antiplatelet agent with an excellent safety profile.
